Champ Monds injury update
A few weeks ago, he shut down his junior season in order to get "a minor procedure" done on his shoulder.
The procedure was actually to fix his torn labrum, which led to two dislocations of that shoulder (one last year, one this year).
Monds was told last year, that with rest, he should be fine, but he reinjured that non-throwing shoulder again earlier this month.
The medical folks are saying that he'll make a full recovery, and be ready for spring training.
I'm glad he finally got the surgery, instead of trying to tough it out, or try another year of rest. At least this way, the nagging injury should be fully fixed by the time 2027 rolls around.
