The only blame on Dante Moore is from his decision to start his slide that late into the play.

Even with that late slide, the SC defender had plenty of time to change course, and certainly had the choice not to go head hunting. Moore was already close to the ground when that cheap shot occurred.

On another board, there was some Stanford fan (yes, they still exist) who was trying to compare this to David Bruton whalloping Tavita Pritchard back in 2007.

The big difference here, is that Bruton was aiming at Pritchard's torso, and Pritchard slid at the very last split second when it was already too late, and the correct non-call occurred.
