the USA has put a focus on soccer for about 40 years and we still can't beat Wales.

Kinda related....'Welcome to Wrexham' is a worthwhile watch, on Hulu
A documentary about a couple of US tv/movie stars - Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney - who buy the lower tier futbol club in Wrexham, Wales. Pretty entertaining.

The focus is on women's soccer. No other countries have more girls playing soccer than US.
Also overall soccer participation actually has declined for about a decade. Soccer participation peaked in US around 2008-2010. It has been declining since then Soccer as a sport is indeed very strange in US.

I don't think that focus has anything to do with it.
The best womens teams in the world happen to come from places where woman have the most freedom. The USWNT benefits from the fact that girls have had access to sports for decades and we have a culture that encourages girls to play. it really is a great accomplishment and that accomplishment. We should all kneel to the flag the next time the USWNT takes the field to acknowledge that accomplishment.

You prefer watching the morbidly obese grapple to get into one another’s end zone?
AND a sport in which players are in action for 6 minutes out of four hours?

Can’t wait for Pickle Ball to it as an Olympic sport. With Florida’s elderly population,
BaronVonZemo64484 postsit’ll be guaranteed gold for the US.

I couldn’t believe they actually had it in Television the other day.
I watched about 10 minutes of it. Which is at least 9 more minutes than I will watch of the World Cup.
