no dishwashers. He wore blackface. He made fun of persons with disabilities to no end (that's why Chris has a picture of him on his ceiling and in between his mattresses). He's got a free pass now from people like you because he's a COVID-19 Nazi sympathizer Leftist idiot.

And I totally agree about the interview - Howard is a helluva talent too.

Bruce had a true artistic temperament. Have always loved him.

I started college a few months after Darkness on the Edge of Town was released.

Springsteen played on campus that fall. Have always loved his sound and passion.

If you get a chance, watch the HBO show.

and it’s funny that some think he still has hookers, degenerates, and the Sybian on his show. In the past, Stern had a hard time getting “A list” celebrities on his show. Now they’re lining up at the door. The Springsteen interview was awesome. Stern has a way of getting his guests to open up on things they’d normally keep packed away.

He has always enjoyed degrading and humiliating people who did not deserve a bit of it. Curiously, that sounds like the type of person that conor pretends to abhor when it suits his political tribal interests.

Well chronicled. He's always been a dirtbag and continues to be a dirtbag. He has always "punched down" and continues to do that. He's an ugly dork who somehow became a celebrity.

Bob Grant, Alan Berg, Neil Rogers, Bob Lassiter all did what Stern does much better, in part because all of them were smarter than Stern. Stern is too shallow and dull to discuss issues of any importance rationally, whereas all of those guys could.

And yes, I’ve heard that Howard treats former employees like shit. When he gives Gary Del’ abate a rash of shit…it’s mostly for comedic effect.

Never heard of the guys you mentioned probably because they’re not nearly as good as Howard. And, I like Stern’s crudeness and like I said earlier, he’s one of the best interviewers I’ve heard. Springsteen, McCartney, Neil Young, Dave Grohl, Ringo…the dude has had some amazing artists on his show. Maybe you’re just above all that nonsense.

Yeah, Dylan assumed the affect of Woody Guthrie and it was pretentious to do that, but Dylan brought the goods lyrically. Springsteen copies those two and produces forgettable stuff. It's third-generation, third world produced version of something original and authentic. His best-selling, best known album is music industry manufactured dung, including the title track.

Crap sells. People gobble up Stern and Springsteen, while there are guys many times better in relative obscurity, or only regionally known. The Lehigh maxim: "How could X/Y/Z possibly be important or good if I've never heard of them" actually captures this mindset perfectly. I hear a song by Nick Drake or Sixto Rodriguez and I wonder, "How in the world did these guys record and perform in obscurity while Springsteen's crap sold the world over?" I mean, they weren't manufactured fakes. They were the real deals, writing better lyrics, had better voices, writing better songs, and they remain relatively obscure, even with some attempts to publicize their work over the last couple decades. Meanwhile, "Dancin' in the Dark" is playing every second of the day on some classic rock station in the States. I just cling to the hope that upon first appearance at the pearly gates, St. Peter snatches the guitar from the hands of "The Boss" and tells him, "Don't you ever let me here you playing this thing again, and for God's, er, gosh sakes, no more of that 'singing' of yours!" As for Sterno, hopefully God plants him in the septic tank under Dana Plato's bungalow.

The point being that Stern is an amazing interviewer. Pretty much anyone who’s anyone in music, TV, and movies lobby to get on his show. There’s a reason for that and the reason isn’t because he’s inferior to your obscure talk show host mentions. It’s because Howard has transformed himself into a thoughtful, creative, and interesting host. He gets everyone to open up on his show or play some of their songs. I doubt you have SiriusXM, so you wouldn’t know these things.

Also, when you make absolute statements like “Springsteen stinks” or “Howard sucks”…it really doesn’t give you much credibility. It just makes you sound like an old curmudgeon asshole.

And you're calling me an "asshole curmudgeon?" You're perpetually cranky here. I don't get angry at you, yet you get your knickers in a bundle over my comments about Howard Stern? Up the dosage, man.

I have Sirius. Do you really think with 300 choices, I'm going to pick that dork loser? I mean, there's Motown, there's First Wave, there's, ironically, Little Steven's Garage, there's The Bridge, there's Lithium, and I'm going to pick devote hours to creepy Ichabod Crane, who has holed himself up for more than two years in his underground lair? Yeah, sure thing. Ohhhhhhhh, 'cuz he gets people to say things that others can't get out of them! Boy, I've never heard that line before about an interviewer! Masterclass! You know a surefire way to be sure that someone or something sucks? Conor and/or Jim think they're great! Just choose the opposite!

And this: Bob Grant was better than Howard! Am amazing statement.

I used to listen to Grant, who was just a conservative commentator. A humorless version of Rush. How was he POSSIBLY better at comedy radio than Howard? Laughable stupid. He was like Sean Hannity, but meaner.

MAS, as usual, speaks with authority about a subject he knows absolutely nothing about.
