Are we repeating the isolationist follies of the 1930s?

We are entering another COLD WAR period and are woefully undercommitted militarily.

Putin, Xi and Khamenei are ruthless dictators who are united in their goal of defeating Western Democracies.

Weakness always incites aggression.

ASAP we need to revoke the Green New Deal and rebudget those funds to our militry and especially our border.

Who is worst president: Edith Wilson after Woodrow's stroke, or whomever decides things for Biden?

Indeed. So you think Biden's handlers are worse. Didn't expect that.

One more thing, re: 'Arming to the Teeth'...keep Ike's "Chance for Peace" speech in mind...

from that speech....
-------------------
Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed.

This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. The cost of one modern heavy bomber is this: a modern brick school in more than 30 cities. It is two electric power plants, each serving a town of 60,000 population. It is two fine, fully equipped hospitals. It is some fifty miles of concrete pavement. We pay for a single fighter with a half-million bushels of wheat. We pay for a single destroyer with new homes that could have housed more than 8,000 people. . . . This is not a way of life at all, in any true sense. Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from a cross of iron.[1][5]

------------------

And as for our 'Southern Border'...it's all on the GOP to stifle its entrenched business interests (see my post on Texas businesses fighting border restrictions) and join with the Dems to get our immigration laws in line with current, and future, needs...might even be a good idea to redirect those billions for new armaments to such societal needs....what do you think?

US weapons end up on both sides of many conflicts. Both parties are all in on the military industrial complex.

Ike never gutted Defense spending...he just advised using "Prudential Judgement" when allocating

funds for the military...as do the moderates of both parties...there is nothing "Moderate" about the 'Conspiracy Addicted' RFK Jr. (see link)...just wait until "Middle America" gets a load of him on the campaign trail.

...as for stopping efforts to confront CC, that would be even more costly...on multiple levels...we (i.e. including all developed nations on this planet) can, and must, "Walk and Chew Gum at the Same Time).

Uhm, don’t know about repeating, but it sure seems to bear resemblance to that period.

We forget the lessons that the past taught us about the follies of isolationism.
