Ukraine should go to a completely defensive strategy. As things stand now, Putin’s invasion is a failure that has reduced his military to a laughing stock and his society to a pariah. He can’t achieve his objective of re-establishing the Soviet Union and destroying the Ukrainian culture. Worst of all, life in Russia is getting worse and worse. Putin’s popularity will bleed out just like his meat grinder tactics are bleeding out his conscripts in eastern Ukraine.

The real war just started if you paid attention. It's the electric war. 1800 megawatt power
plant near Kiev was just wiped out. Actually most thermal power plants in Ukraine were destroyed. The electricity situation in Ukraine now is worse than pre-surrender Germany in WW II, thanks to Ukraines attack deep into Russia's refineries at first.
It doesn't matter which approach Ukraine wants to use, defensive or Kherson summer counteroffense, Russia is determined to destroy Ukraine's entire energy infrastructure. Ukraine can get 60 B package or whatever weapons they want but Ukraine can not get electricity. For Russia, it's no longer special military operation (SMO), it's real war.
Actually, no one lost power after the attack...the Ukraine grid hasn't been destroyed...
...and once the $60B aid package is delivered, including long-awaited F-16s with long-range stealthy cruise missiles, Putin will be hard pressed to retain control of Crimea and end up more than willing to have peace talks that involve the return of that territory to Ukraine.
