Putin doing so well he canned his Defense minister... for an economist who never served.

He’s also turned a great nation into the North Korea of Europe.

Oh! And he’s succeeded in getting his country surrounded by a reinvigorated NATO.

So tell us once again what was his goal in launching this debacle?

He’s a megalomaniac fool!

If Biden gets reelected you will see his new admin too. Xi was reelected last October, he changed his primer minister, defense minister, foreign minister, head of central bank...a lot. It's politics 101, even common sense. But in US propaganda made it a big deal. Pathetic.

Shoigu served 12 years, too long. It's well and long expected that Shoigu would be gone. All Russian pitical observers knew it. Obviously you're not one of them. But strangly you talked about Russia a lot. Just repeat same words again and again. LOL.

Mayebe western observers are surprised at the replacement, an economist. Its not the one they expected. Shoigu is a technocrat, a civilian too. In recent revival of Russian military industrial complex he together with Medvedev made the most important contribution.

As said before, there has never been a war where there has been less motivation to negotiate a settlement.

Exactly. Not much surprises me, but the lack of an appetite prior to the war for a peace agreement

Russia was an ally in WWII; Germany, Italy and Japan were the enemies.

China is a way bigger enemy than Russia.

In the grand scheme of things Ukraine doesn't matter.

Obviously over time the Russians will be able to bring their superior population and arms industry to bear, and the war will continue if Putin thinks he can win.

If scum like you and Eli in Congress shut down the aid, then the killing will continue. And you’ll be so happy!

If your boy manages to drive into Kiev, he’ll have a guerrilla war in his hands…and the killing will continue.

You must be so proud.

The invasion of Afghanistan was trying to get Al Qaeda. We had no desire to occupy Afghanistan.

The war in Iraq was a colossal mistake. A crime. Does not excuse Putin’s crime.

Not sure why you need to whatabout over and over, but that’s where we are.

History matters. And what separates humans from most of the rest of animal kingdom is our ability to model the world and then make decisions based on that model for the good of our species.

To me, we're making the same mistakes due to the same type of thinking. What about that?

You argued for the insanity that we need to aim for stalemate in order to avoid a prolonged war.

Cole has been right. He is not glad Putin is winning, he is being a realist and questioning the decisions of BidenHandlers whose foreign policy is exclusively dictated by its own political concerns ( look at the Israel arms fiasco flip flop of you doubt me).

You argued for prolonging war with an inevitable outcome. It is you who should be looking in the mirror.

He thought the war would be over in two weeks. He now thinks that letting Putin into Kiev is the way to get a stable end to the war.

He is a fool.

Thread Level: 5

Cutting bait is the only thing that makes sense.

Biden enabled this with his lifting of Nordsteam 2 completion assistance ban put in place on US companies by Trump (simply because it was Put in place by Trump, it would appear). He both improved Putin’s funding mechanism while increasing Putin’s expectation for increased Euro dependence on Russian oil (and thus making it less likely there would be real opposition from either EU or US who would need the EU support).

Biden also projected weakness with his Afghanistan Withdrawal debacle, and because the last time he was in power with Obama, Putin saw that Biden only sent blankets instead of arms as he invaded and took Crimea.
Then Joe gave the speech saying that a “minor incursion” could be tolerated as Putin had his forces poised to invade for weeks while Zelensky was begging for military aid, and Biden was saying no.

There was a time to both prevent and win his war, but Joe Biden missed them both long ago…the man with the worst instincts in all of Washington per both R’s and D’s.
