worse. Yes the doctors and scientists are struggling but if I had little grandchildren I would encourage them to be vaccinated. Both my wife and I had early Covid. So did my girls and their husbands. Two of us got it again. My son in law worse. Stop the discussion, no one knows shit but the vaccine works for now. And yes I’m wearing a mask again. Because I care about my health and those I love.
This is a brutal virus. Let’s all agree to do what’s best. I saw a 29 year old kid die this week. I’ll never forget that.

CDC reports a 99.998% survival rate for ages 0-17, 99.95% for ages 18-49 and 99.4% for ages 50-69.
At some point we have to acknowledge that this virus simply isn't deadly enough to keep worrying about. If someone wants to take their chances by not getting vaccinated, let 'em.

The number of people dying do not warrant any further action. People by now have made their choice. I chose to get vaccinated as did my wife, but our children are not (12 & 14) being vaccinated. No reason to based on data.
not minimal and it’s helping to hold back economic recovery.
Should be an easy call for conservatives. Get vaxxed, no more masks, or lockdowns, and economic recovery.

At this point, why protect the unvaccinated?
“Kiss me … I’m vaccinated.”
Tough love serves a purpose.
It's somehow privacy. You don't even have to tell me if the result is in normal range. An answer "the test result is not a big deal" would be fine.
It was a long 12 hour day for family. We volunteered as scribes and sang for our supper on a cold March day.
I would have crawled a mile over broken glass to get the jab. Was mighty thankful to have been vaccinated.
And remain fully confident that my grandkids will not be born with flippers.
level headed but really, you have your head buried in the sand.

So-called infection protection dropped from 90% efficacy to 64% and now 39%. It will continue dropping.

Much more reputable, in my humble opinion.

How they are treating the unvaxxxrs today will be the way how they will treat people who are hesitant to have booster shot tomorrow. Mark my words.
PS. Mayo is good. but I dont think their are updated. The delta goes fast. The best vaccine data today in the world is Israel and UK. They did so well in recording their data and publish them regularly, hard to manipulate.
will be hesitant in getting the booster? Kind of a reach, don’t you think?
Consult your Dr. Ask him/her what they think about the vaccine.
is the way we are living in this world. iphone as a service, windows as a service, why not covid vaccine as a service?

they were unvaccinated between this 2 infections. Maybe immune system too suppressed to generate antibody from previous infection? If you know how mRNA vaccine works, you will understand. Had reinfection been very common, they would not have made these mRNA vaccine from the beginning.
I know it is hard for you now. I wish your family the best and thank you for the sincere advise. I am not fighting vaccine. I am vaccine hesitant and vaccine advocates attack me. You know conservative like to follow the rule and principle. In this case follow the scientific process/protocol. I am looking forward to FDA's judgement on approval.

You’re trying to come across as someone who considers info without actually understanding the information or I’d say actually reading the info.
mRNA is the C19 vaccine science.
lower chance of even getting it. Non vaxxed: Over 90% of serious illness and death are among the un vaxxed. Delta is highly transmissible, and cases are surging especially in areas of high % of un vaxxed people. COVID care continues to strain our medical system and costs money. Millions of people have safely taken the vax without any issues.
Un vaxxed therefore = stupid unless you have a valid medical excuse.

The thread below from ELI is mind boggling.
Can't get any stupider than that.
How many had pre-existing conditions? How many young had pre-existing conditions? How many died in car accident, suicide, or other means but because they tested positive, that goes into the covid side of the stat sheet? How many in NY died from covid but were listed otherwise to protect that idiot Tony Soprano wannabe? How many died needlessly in nursing homes because of that idiot Tony Soprano wannabe? How many actually died from covid that were healthy middle aged or younger? is any of this answerable? Just like the past election, covid, and January 6th, no questions allowed. Shut up and stop asking questions. I've been vaccinated but there is no way I do it because some fool on a message board demands that I do, or better yet,, some elite power hungry hypocrite politician tries to shame me. Has Tom Brady or Bebron or any of the Texas Six been vaccinated? Is Wilbon going to demand that they come forward? Hell no. They are afraid they might not get the answer that they are looking for.
ELP or Eli maybe?

But given that 74 million Americans voted for "4 more years" of a Trump Presidency ... no surprise that they struggle with processing information in a discerning manner.
time to start blaming the unvaccinated folks and not the regular folks - it's the unvaccinated folks that are lettin' us down - I can encourage you to do sumthin' but I can't

Paranoia is equally distributed across the political spectrum.
Hollywood celebrity, JFK Jr....too many. My neighbor state Oregon is notorious for its anti-Vaxxx stand. Some libertarians are anti-vaxxxers, but it is always true that libertarians share something with liberals.
Also people who against genetically engineered foods are mainly on the left. But mRNA is genetically engineered molecule. Human are ironic species.

Seems to me one ought to get the vaccine, so long as there are no extenuating circumstances. I did so at my first opportunity.
But I also don't begrudge those that don't - including my brother. They have their reasons, whether I agree with them or not.
I think the argument that if you don't vaccinate, you are reckless and putting others at risk is silly. COVID has been a godsend for the pious know-it-alls who love to tell others how to live. Those that don't vaccinate are probably putting more people at risk by simply driving their cars than by not getting the vaccine.
Maybe you aren't as fun to argue with and insult?
Maybe my support of you will draw some attention this way.
....you saw someone die. Who? Do you know for a fact that they got the vaccine and still died? And even so, given how exquisitely rare it is for someone to be fully vaccinated and actually die from COVID thereafter, the costs from remasking the public outweigh the risk.
Remember that in about 330,000 or so people tested with the three FDA approved vaccines in different parts of the world, there were ZERO deaths. (It is for this reason that I ask whether you actually know for sure that the person who died was vaccinated or whether you were told this second or third hand).
I do not dismiss the legitimacy of COVID. I agree that every adult should get the 2 shot vaccine. But I absolutely do NOT agree with remasking once you have had the vaccine. I trust it. It is true that it is still possible that a very rare case of death could still occur, but that has always been the case for many other infections including H1N1 where we did not have such an overreaction.
The costs of such a widespread action of remasking the public include young children losing out on an effective education while they fiddle with their masks, depression and suicide numbers directly related to the masks which far, far outweigh the super rare post vaccine COVID death, complications form oral and respiratory fungal infections associated with mask wearing, complications for undiagnosed asthmatics, financial costs (PPE has been a difficult hudle for many small businesses and schools).etc.
Because the risk of death post vaccine from COVID is SO low mathematically, these other issues actually become greater risks.
You have witnessed a traumatic event which has biased your viewpoint. Imagine in an analogous situation where a person's loved one is recovering successfully in the ICU from a closed head injury from a car crash. In the next room over is another motor vehicle accident victim with a head injury who dies. The friends of that person say that the deceased was wearing a seatbelt, though you obviously cannot look at the official report. Still, you start telling everyone that you are going to wear a helmet in addition to your seatbelt whenever you ride in a car. That's fine if you want to do that, but do you think everyone else should start wearing a helmet too?
I trust the vaccine. I respect that you don't especially after your atypical experience, but in truth, you cannot fully eliminate the risk of death, and there are other factors to consider that make your recommendation for a mask something that should be personal to you, but not forced upon others
(not sure if you are saying this or not, but people on the Left will certainly take this as advocacy for sweeping recommendations to all).
and by the way, if masks post vaccine are pushed, there will be no motive for the unvaccinated to get a vaccine given they will still have to wear their masks. That impedence to vaccination would be more significant than any minimal benefit from masks being worn by the general public who do not wear them properly or use proper masks for the most part.
He could have died a number of different ways I understand. But he died from COVID. I’m not being a drama queen I’m just telling you what happened. Your attack on my observation makes no sense to me.
I don’t think your being a drama queen.
I also agree with your rec for getting vaccinated.
I do think that your comments for the mask wearing, while fine for you to choose personally, are not indicated for the reasons that I mentioned, and they will be used by some to impose unnecessary burden on others however.
I take your word about the person dying of COVID post vaccination, but given the remarkable rarity of that event, it is a reasonable question to ask if your information on whether that person was actually vaccinated. I understand that the person died of COVID, but were they actually vaccinated?
It’s the only discussion that matters.

Viruses are 1000 times smaller than germs. Try to fathom what that means. They are at the atomic level and are transmitted on air particulates. That makes anything short of a level-4 hazmat containment suit ineffective. Useless. And Fauci said so himself in April 2020.
So what changed? Not the science.
using a chain link fence to stop air flow.
Not sure masking up does jack. The left are all chest thumping about the non vaccinated in Red states but run and hide when the black and Hispanic non vax communities are mentioned. Same with high profile pro athletes, and all those pesky illegals that the left simply adores who are not vaccinated. The Texas Six super spreader story sure has been buried by the left media. Pelosi, Lightfoot, Whitmer and that imbecile husband of hers, and Gavin Newsome all have received a pass during the covid for their super spreader no mask events. Lollapalooza coming to Chicago. Can't wait for 100k little infected antifa morons checking into the city. The left here and everywhere need to zip it before they look like bigger fools than they already are.
