Anyone still stuff the bird?

Among my top memories is helping my mom prepare Thanksgiving turkey stuffing and learning how to sow it up. As an adult I've carried on this traditional ritual for over half a century. But now my family members have determined this is UNHEALTHY! And so I have to prepare a side dish of stuffing outside the turkey just for them. It's not nearly the same.

I understand that I'm a dinosaur... but am I the only one?

Yes. In my family the Turkey is merely a vessel to cook the stuffing. Just use 2 thermometers.

One in the stuffing and the other one in the bird.

Since the stuffing is always the first to run out, I’ve tried making extra in a separate dish—but I just can’t get it to taste right.

We usually end up throwing some leftover Turkey out. Any leftover stuffing is always gone the next day.

Stuffing the bird is simply the best way to do it. I make sure when I remove the stuffing that it's

at or above 165 degrees so it's safe. If it's not at temp, then I nuke for a few mins. Dressing is a different story. I've never really had dressing that can compete with stuffing.

Exactly, the juices from the turkey give its flavor and texture.

Interesting euphemism, but that is a bit too personal question, isn't it?
