Luigi Mangione: developmental and/or genetic and/or sexual frustration?

Why would an attractive, intelligent, well educated, likable young man raised by an apparently well-respected family abruptly and cold-heartedly gun down the CEO of a national healthcare insurance company?

Human behavior is multidetermined and significantly compelled by unconscious forces we deny even exist.

We delude ourselves that are any simple answers to these questions.

And we refuse to even contemplate why we do whatever we do... because it's scary stuff.

If someone is truly insane (highly unlikely here), jurors will reject the defense, opting for Guilty but Mentally Ill, which covers a broad array of mental illnesses, yet secures the conviction and life sentence, whether served in prison or a lock down state facility for crazy people.

This asshole is toast. But, he signed up to be toast.

From a very conservative Republican family. “Firearms are King” kind of family.

He will quickly learn that he ain’t all that tough.

Family is irrelevent to this issue. My kids are all over the place politically.

I was just on the phone with my brother tonight, and he was assuming one of my kids thought like me politically, and I had to correct him. I raised a cross section of society. They definitely know where I stand, but I did not dictate their political positions. Some agree with me; some do not. The one thing they do know, though: Family comes first.

I have always wondered why people say don't discuss family among friends or family. I would think that family and friends would listen to your thoughts more than anybody.

Too early to know why. But it seems to me that unabomber influnce is a reason. Unabomber believed that in order to make people pay attention to the environment and save the earth it is worthy murdering a few people, using extreme way to awake people.

It's a tragedy for such a bright young man to become an extremist.

better not let him out, or he will do it again. Asked why and he said it was just the way he was. He liked to kill women and hookers. He was resentenced to life without parole. The resentencing is why he was being put up at our little chalet. Last I checked he hadn’t been a problem in state prison.

P.S. This guy aced at least 5 women.

Apparently, his mother was denied coverage for a claim of neuropathy.

Sounds like the doctors were as culpable as the insurance company.

Regardless, she would have been worse off under a government health plan

Shooting him in the back wasn't murder. It was symbolic performance art.
