And if so is our system the best to generate the best overall welfare?

More specifically, if our free enterprise economy begins to bloom under Trump will those on the left be sad and root for things to go bad?

the left be sad and wish for it to fail?

It's called tribalism and it is innate.

Jonathan Haidt has written some stuff on this, see link.

In my view, the political parties exacerbate the innate tribalistic tendencies. I would love to have political parties eliminated, but in the absence of that In think more political parties would help. But if there's one thing the R/D duopoly can agree on, it's that neither wants a viable third party, so it's probably a pipe dream.

It's easier when your livelihood is not tethered to general economic prosperity.

Imposing corporate abuse, neglect and greed on deserving victims.

Unfortunately, politics has become a zero sum game. I'm not sure how we get out from under this.

Take foreign policy: Dems timidly opposed Putin after years of being soft on Commies merely because Putin appears to favor Trump... but now some of Trump's devotees root for Putin after years of strident anti-communism even though Putin's goal is still a Soviet era defeat of the West. If we'd been united Putin would have lost and become a relic in the dustbin of history.

2016 election. It's also clear that many notable Republicans, along with Democrats, want Trump sent to the "Dustbin"...

Your mission...'If you choose to accept it'...is to ensure that Trump and his MAGA followers do not succeed in Making America God Awful...and to accomplish that you need to vote against anyone who shows loyalty to Trump.

As for "Zero Sum"...that's another problem...we also have to deal with the rise of "Plutocrats", like Musk and Theil who want the fruits of all labors to be theirs...more on that later.

And Trump's commitment to loyalty is a one way street.

If Putin is relying on Trump... that would be more foolish than invading Ukraine with a Potemkin military.

Honestly...do you seriously think that Trump is in control of a man like Putin...the ex-KGB agent?

Everything Trump is proposing puts a smile on Vlad's face...especially, when it comes to International Relations....but also, our domestic decisions. Causing chaos within our nation is a huge part of why Putin worked so hard to get Trump elected....the LAST THING that Putin wants is for America to be GREAT.

Thread Level: 7

Try reversing that and it would be accurate.

to land a land a serious blow...maybe even a knockout punch against the U.S.. Vlad is likely to put maximum pressure on DJT while he can. One thing I'm sure of...every move Trump makes going forward will be to Putin's advantage.
