...and if you have a tree, what are your "Specs"? In our case, it's a cut tree...Noble Fir...a bit over 6 ft, with blinking white lights, red ribbon and a variety of bulbs....and an Angel on top.
For those w/o a tree (like us last year)...what special decorations?
Someone else can start a poll on outside lighting , etc....in our case, we have a Manger Scene next to the front door with a spotlight shining on it.
Since moving to artificial, no issues. Given my druthers, we'd have a real tree. They smell good.
Now we do artificial. I miss the pine smell, but I don’t miss the mess.

tipping with the lay of the land. I use the sweeping side of a broom to get lights higher. A bit dangerous, reaching and leaning on an uneven ladder at my age, but every year I get down and say, one more year done and I didn't fall, to my wife. I hope to move south permanently by Christmas next year so just an artificial tree and lights on a condo railing. It is seven floors up and looks nice when we walk by and look up at it.
neighborhood have hired Christmas Lights Installers...and some have coordinated...about 5 of them in a row make it look like one huge display...very impressive.
Let's have a merry day Friday.

…for us, the tradition is strong…especially with my wife
gets a free one from them each year. Nice, but super expensive for what you get.)
We also have a trio of reindeer with lights outside.

But the quote was ridiculous to have them installed.
