acceptance is the first step.
tds is a serious and destructive addiction. although those who have it know deep down they are afflicted, it is still very difficult to recognize because it causes cognitive aberration and manifests itself to the addict as normal thinking. incredibly, the addict actually sees it as a positive character trait. it can cause the afflicted to say things like, “perhaps the gop should make musk the speaker”, and other equally inane (sometimes even comedic) statements. however, the good news it that patient and professional counseling can help the afflicted recognize their horribly flawed thought processes and possibly lead them out of the tds abyss. there’s a well-defined and proven 12 step program, but step one is recognizing the disease within oneself, accepting the situation, and realizing there is help.

WHAT WE FOUNDThe spending bill, proposed on Dec. 17, authorizes the transfer of administrative control of the RFK Stadium site in Washington, D.C. from the federal government to the District of Columbia, which could potentially lead to a new stadium for the NFL’s Washington Commanders. The bill explicitly states no federal funds would be allocated for the construction of a new stadium.
The 177-acre RFK Stadium site is currently owned and operated by the federal government. U.S. law says federal and D.C. authorities can transfer control of any property between each other, but ownership of the property remains with the federal government unless Congress votes to sell the property.
In this case, the continuing resolution only gives Washington, D.C. the power to decide what to do with the property and any buildings on it, but the land itself is still owned by the federal government.
The District of Columbia would be responsible for the costs for maintaining the land and the bill spells out that, “the District may not use Federal funds for stadium purposes on the [RFK] Campus, including training facilities, offices, and other structures necessary to support a stadium.”

Republicans have a historically slim majority in the House. Republicans do not have the mandate they think they have. Note that Trump won Wisconsin, Nevada, and Arizona, yet the same voters elected Democrats to the Senate in the same three states.
Extortion, bullying, is not governing.
Biden’s bipartisan legislative accomplishments is historic. Common ground is how our nation is governed. Musk and Trump will quickly learn that X social messaging is not how things get done.
