We need them, they would be perfectly happy just being able to work without being hassled and do have not serious interest in assimilation and we would not have to spend a fortune trying to round them up and deport them.

Obama deported more people than Trump did. There is a balance to be had but neither political party is interested in that. Trump is the pendulum swinging the other direction.
While Trump uses the "Open Borders" meme to get votes from the uninformed...he busily hires
undocumented immigrants in his companies...as do businesses in Texas, Florida and many other states. We need to pass a bipartisan Immigration and Border Protection Bill...just like the one that Trump killed before the 2024 election.

supported Reagan's efforts...even posted videos of Ron's last speech as President on that topic...nothing to be ashamed of.

Only Congressional action can provide the funding for all the changes needed. Even DJT called for
such action in 2019...I've posted his WH Announcement regarding that already...do a search if you doubt me.

It's a far more complex problem.
You can't subsidize businesses by importing cheap labor when you have citizens who can't make ends meet to afford housing, food, healthcare, etc. It's a recipe for societal collapse. Working in the slaughterhouse used to be a good paying working class job with good benefits. And it's not like giant meat conglomerate passes the labor and benefit savings on to the consumer. This is how CEO pay and monopolies have exploded since the 90s.

I believe Ronald Reagan is the last US President to grant wide spead amnesty to illegal aliens. I-9s were the grand bargain agreed to in order to prevent it from happening again.
