It's an agency not mentioned in the Constitution, and the president appoints the head of the agency. I did find one article saying it was created to help the president enforce the laws but now I can't find it. Anyway, I know you'll dispute this (because in your world Democrats are perfect people) but Merrick Garland was anything but impartial, as he was exposed time after time.
The Office of U.S. Attorney General was created in 1789, and the AG's role is to "Advise" the
President on all legal matters related to U.S. Laws (see link)...He or She, is not the President's hired personal attorney...the AG represents "The People's Interest" as expressed in the laws of this country. In the case of Pam Bondi and Donald Trump, our laws were carried out after the 2020 election...the electoral votes were counted and certified by each state and acknowledged by V.P. Mike Pence...Pam Bondi, as a nominee for Attorney General, should have zero hesitation in affirming that Joe Biden WON that election, and Donald Trump LOST it...yet she refuses to acknowledge it...in line with DJT's continued false assertion.
Pam Bondi does not deserve the Office of Attorney General.

In nominating her to be U.S. attorney general, Trump said that, as Florida's attorney general, she had "worked to stop the trafficking of deadly drugs, and reduce the tragedy of Fentanyl Overdose Deaths, which have destroyed many families across our Country," and that she had done "an incredible job".[24] In fact, however, Florida's age-adjusted rate of "deaths from drug poisoning" nearly doubled during her term, from 13.7 per 100,000 residents in 2011 to 25.1 when she left office in 2019.[25]
