Power. IMO he's about to drive the U.S. off a cliff. Even China has an ambitious Nuclear Program...and the U.S. still has less than 10yrs of Proven Oil Reserves at current consumption rates, which means that even if we were to find TRIPLE that amount overnight, we're still faced with an existential threat.
This is not good.
here's an excerpt that raises questions...
------------------
An executive order on Unleashing American Energy orders an "immediate review of all agency actions that potentially burden the development of domestic energy resources". It directs the heads of "all agencies" to review existing regulations and agency actions to identify those that "impose an undue burden on the identification, development, or use of domestic energy resources - with particular attention to oil, natural gas, coal, hydropower, biofuels, critical mineral, and nuclear energy resources". It also, among other things, instructs the US Geological Survey "to consider updating the Survey’s list of critical minerals, including for the potential of including uranium".
-----------------
"Potential of including uranium?"...yet an unambiguous cry for "Drill, Baby, Drill". I'm a bit underwhelmed at the mention of 'Uranium", especially when the Biden administration made a very clear funding decision ($700M) to advance the development of a critically needed "High Assay Low Enrichment Uranium" (HALEU) production facility that is needed for the new GEN-IV reactors (see link). It needs to come on line rapidly since the GEN-IV reactors are expected to begin demonstration operations between 2028 and 2030...which the Biden administration also provided funding for.
All of this should be known to the Trump team, so I'm hoping that Nuclear News will be reporting shortly that the HALEU plant has the Trump administration's full and enthusiastic support...along with each of the GEN-IV reactors...with the intent of them quickly providing all the "Grid Level" electrical power for this nation.
btw, right now, our only source of HALEU fuel...and the ONLY countries that commercially produce it are..........................Russia and China..... We NEED to be SELF SUFFICIENT..."America First!"

Power capacity...along with the consequent reduction in the use of Fossil Fuels for Heat and Power that Nuclear is designed to replace.

But I am sure that you are.
Global Nuclear Fuel to design, mfg and deliver fuel assemblies? BTW, I'm in favor of nuclear power but it seems to me that even if the industry plans are stood up tomorrow that oil will be neccessary if for no other reason than to fill the gap unless we stop shutting down coal fired plants. Oops, fuel also needed for license extension of Diablo Canyon in CA.
the Biden administration...just a urgency for the transition to Nuclear Power for those purposes...with the addition of Renewables where their 'Variability' does not require significant backup capability.
Again...the U.S. has less than 10yrs of Proven Oil Reserves at current consumption rates...even the Alaska reserves are judged to have just 6 mo's additional capacity. We need an all out emphasis on Nuclear Power development,..so that we'll have sufficient Oil and Gas for National Security (...e.g. 100 Bbls/yr for the military, including jet fighters)
A signature cry of "Drill, Baby, Drill" doesn't resonate with what I've come to know.
NUCLEAR STOCKS
Nuclear energy stocks rose as investors cheered Trump's pick of Chris Wright for energy secretary. Wright has promised to prioritize the production of nuclear power and liquefied natural gas as part of his plan to boost U.S. energy output.
Vistra (VST.N), opens new tab gained 4%, NuScale Power (SMR.N), opens new tab rose 10%, while Sam Altman-backed nuclear startup Oklo Inc (OKLO.N), opens new tab added 12.4%.
Everyone knows we need this dramatic increase in power. Trump will clear the regulatory hurdles and private enterprise will build out the nukes.
facilities...let's see what DJT actually does. The current plan is have them available by 2030...keep an eye out for any delays.

have power to do that for obvious reason, i.g. next president can stop or change his EO. Long-term agenda has to be done by 3 branches of our government.
Just ignore Ty's ridiculous accusation.
grid that doesn't rely on FFs for Heat and Power, and given that our reserves of Oil are strategically very low (<10yrs at current consumption rates) we need them to begin coming 'on line' just 5 yrs from now. Fortunately, projects have started and have bipartisan support...but many things need to happen before then, including continued development funding and the pulling together of private investments that will actually fund the many plants that need to be approved during these 5 years. That also means cooperation among utilities and other energy related institutions...like the O&G industry factoring in reductions in their production of Oil and Gas.
For DJT to say absolutely nothing about Nuclear Power is very concerning for our ability to truly become "Energy Independent"...which we are not now...and can never be with a reliance on only Fossil Fuels.
If you have any questions on this, please ask.

Believe him because he always tells the truth.
If we're really producing more fossil fuel as you claim, why gas price is higher today than before? More fossil fuel should lower gas price. That's the law, the law of supply and demand.
On January 2017 when Trump began his first term of presidency, the gas price was $2.45 national average. Today it's $3.10 national average, higher than Jan 2017.
You're stupid by only looking at one variable. But in economy it's always demand and supply, 2 variables. Even you're producing more, but if the demand is much more than you produce, you're still actually producing LESS, less than we demand. The price is the indicator, the judge that tells you if you're producing more or less. Now the current price clearly tells you we're producing less. Why we demand more? Because we have more population, more GDP which means more economic activities than Jan 2017.

production is expensive and peaking in most locations...we need to invest in new nuclear power plants that will come on line beginning in 2030...provided DJT doesn't ignore them in favor of Fossil Fuels.

did that...and replaced the oil used...at a profit. DJT's statement is a long-term commitment to "Drill, Baby, Drill" and apparently rely solely on Oil and Gas for our energy future. This is absolutely the wrong strategy and. will do serious damage to our economy...and national security...just the things that Vladimir Putin most wants to see. IMO it's also why Trump exclaimed that of all functions of government...he wanted to personally take responsibility for ENERGY.
You are correct that Congress needs to step in and insist on continuing the bipartisan support for Nuclear Energy...even increasing that support over the rest of this term...we shall see what happens...and speak out accordingly.
urself, can accomplish against the power the power and popularity of DJT. You and yr ilk are nothing more than a fart in wind. Get on board or get Lost, Tyrone. U are yesterday's news
