US Army helicopter was on training flight out of Fort Belvoir, which is downriver.
Very tight airspace that separates commercial flight paths in and out of National, versus military ops.
Sadly, there isn’t much wiggle room. Feel horrible for the families (including families of Russian figure skaters) who have lost loved ones.
