The ineptitude is astounding.
If you wanted to design a strategy that would discourage the unvaccinated to get vaccinated, this is what would be produced. Scapegoating tens of millions, having the CDC flip-flop, and then having the prez and vice-prez misstate their administration's very policy positions and contradict each other within a day of each person speaking on it, to confuse everyone even further. Keystone Cops. And, no, Ted Cruz, no agency has ever discredited itself with such rapidity as the CDC. It has lost its credibility with average people for good.
You know it's bad when the MSM is turning and many of the diehards in the base fall silent.

control of this pandemic.

This is a global fiat economic collapse masked as a pandemic. The system is failing. I doubt it will survive past the end of this year. America is in complete economic collapse and the government is lying through their teeth to you. Get some food and water if you can. Silver coins you can barter with. This is going to make The Great Depression look like a cake walk. God be with you and your family.

for his other purposes.
Delta shows the same viral load in vaccinated and unvaccinated people, which means it's much easier for vaccinated people to transmit Delta than the original virus. That's the reason for the reversion in masking rules.
Vaccinated people remain at far less risk of hospitalization and death with Delta so that risk remains with the unvaccinated. Personally, I say fuck the unvaccinated and let them take the risk and don't revert to the old masking rules. I also would drop Covid coverage for any unvaccinated people if I ran an insurance company but I'm an asshole.

The same fucktards who refused to get vaccinated will now bitch when asked to wear a cloth over their filthy mouths when going into a store.
Because of freedom. Freedom!

Just looking for the slightest bit of consistency here to assure me that this isn't, you know, POLITICAL!!!!!!!
And you make an excellent comment about "wearing cloth over their mouths" which is exactly what many are doing and being told that it's good by our ever flip flopping CDC. And the cloth wearing fucktards who reuse the masks, and touch their faces (admit it...that's been you too).
Such a nice placebo! And such a nice virtue signal device. And such a nice way to keep this all going until the midterm elections to keep the no ID laws in place.

Please don't use Delta as excuse. If you read the internal report from CDC (WaPo has it), one data (from nursing home) from Beta variant (note, not Delta) says 61% infected cases are vaccinated. Delta is more contagious, but we're still not sure its severity as of now. Data from UK/India says it's not severe.
Disclaimer . I am not against any vaxxxers. Many of them here, even vaccinated, support freedom of choice, respect choice of unvaxeers. They earned my respect. I am against this witch hunting campaign on unvaxeers started from July.

simple decision that would save their lives and restore a normal living environment, I have to disagree on the second, because...
1) 58 million kids under 12 are sitting ducks until they can get vaccinated sometime this winter, and...
2) Although they are certifiable idiots...they are "Our Idiots" performing valuable roles in society...we need them all.
3) Masks are simple, but very effective risk reducers...we need them until case numbers nationally approach what we see in Vermont.
Bring on the "incentives"...vaccine passports, etc.

And if you really want to do the Pontius Pilate thing, that will be the fault of these plague rats.
The rats deserve what they get for screwing themselves and everyone else.
schools, regardless of vaccination status, due to the increased transmissibility of the Delta variant...this is a good thing.
The experience in Indonesia should be a warning to us...and along with mortality stats, there's also the concern for morbidity...there are several other long term health issues that come into play with COVID...
You should by now have a sense of how I feel about anti-vaxers...yet, I can't bring myself to withhold assistance while they go about their moronic lives...emphasis on "assistance"...not control...unless we reach a condition where the vaccines are given full approval and the SCOTUS decision comes into play for the "public interest".

Can you imagine the outcry from the Citizen Free Press crowd if they hadn’t lifted masking restrictions in May after transmission rates dropped dramatically with vax options widely available? This same genius crowd now shits on them for reversing guidance based on new data on Delta. Cannot, repeat cannot fix stupid people.
The message did not get out clearly and people are noticing, including people who are "on their side." This has to do with competence. You probably know this from business. I know it from education: if your audience isn't understanding, it's usually you and not them.

...the simple truth is that those who are unvaccinated are the ones at risk. They are taking their own risks. Kids are much less affected as we have seen this past year, and even with the new variant being more threatening to the young, it is still no where near dangerous enough to warrant the remasking at schools.

Communication has been a problem since early 2020, though each side seems to only care when they aren’t in the WH. That’s going to happen with a new virus.
The current administration certainly can be better much more blunt (blunter?). Perhaps they are trying to straddle the middle too much. Who knows…I certainly don’t.
You're also underestimating the damage of the flip-flops, the refusal of the head mouthpiece to admit he has ever been wrong, and the amount of anger that has been generated as a result of these things and others.
Your original post was that it doesn't make sense. I explained why it does and you seem to agree, or at least you aren't arguing that point.
And let's be honest, the most vocal opponents of remasking wouldn't act any differently if it was the smoothly communicated process in government history.
Many of the confused people are not ideologues. I live around them. This is turning people non-plussed about COVID into upset people, primarily about masking up the kids again, but also when trying to explain that the vaccination that would absolutely work and that Biden said would ensure that you don't have to mask up, really won't allow you to do that. If you wish to tell yourself that only the right-wing ideologues feel this way, go for it, but there are many non-ideologues in precisely this state of mind. The Biden Administration has done a putrid job of managing this and the rhetoric from Joe, shaming the unvaccinated, is just plain stupid. How bright do you need to be to understand that this tactic will produce behavior opposite of what he apparently intends?
majority of vaccine hesitancy I believe is on the left. Today at least one union of Fed employees (we all know 90% federal employees vote for D) standing out against Biden's vaccine mandate is a proof. BTW, It is also true if Trump were in power prompting vaccine, you would hear a lot of more noises from left on social media, even on MSM, against it.
But I agree most people make decision on personal health not based on politics.

I’m with Neddie on this one. No more mask mandates.
Let the thing run it’s course with un vaxxed. Just give them their chloroquine packets to treat it symptomatically.

Even the WSJ manages to identify the CDC’s request correctly.

saying that Biden and Kamala also failed on this account.
The insurmountable part is convincing people to get vaccinated after Biden and others declared that if you've been vaccinated, you don't need to wear a mask. That wasn't a long time ago that he stated this, but rather days ago. Anytime anyone has to explain after the fact that he explained it well, yet many/most aren't following, he's already lost those people. When you do an effective job, you don't have to do these things. Explaining that, well, this is a new variant, so some of you will again test positive, and then you'll have to quarantine, and we'll have to mask up again is the worst-case scenario in convincing people to vaccinate. If the objective remains to vaccinate the stupid rubes, then I guess we'll be stuck with this routine for four years, so 1500 days or whatever to vaccinate those who absolutely don't want to get vaccinated. So, the rest of us will mask up if we're in orange-designated areas, although many of the counties marked orange actually have few, if any, deaths, but we're in proximity to counties with several, so thus we must wear masks, and if it gets worth and we're in "blue states," we'll probably lock 'er down, and mask up the kids, all on account of the unvaccinated and because we can't prove that we might not contract a new variant, which will be replaced by the next variant, with everything weighed against what the most neurotic people in our society fear about this virus. Good stuff.
He’s calling it out which is the truth.
It’s the death of femine experts I’m telling you.
Cheeks and you can get the strategy from the wise manly men at the midwestern tap rooms and podcasts.
