      so it's a given that Iran/Hamas/Hezbollah/ISIS will carry on the battle. With Arab skin in the game, plus U.S. control... and a commitment to a Two-State Solution, we could be there for the reconstruction...show some "Soft Power"...gain trust and confidence among the majority of Gazans...ID new competent Palestinian leaders and build relationships with them. Finally, give Hamas, et al, no political capital with the people...maybe even soften the Right Wingers in Israel.
      
      Israel is critical to our geo-political presence in the region...but maybe Chris can add a sage opinion on this question.

I like thd idea - esp since other countries pay, our contractors work, and people get something nice in the end worth protecting.

I don’t hear other workable ideas being offered. Israel is our best ME ally and forcing a solution bad to them is not an option except to the antisemites that we have seen.

It uses the same principles as some urban renewal strategies that have worked in some cases. (No tenement structures!).

I do agree that there are still Hamas terrorist
monsters that need to be filtered out though.

        He can’t & won’t abandon Uk to Putin, but he can’t get back what was already taken. I expect peace settlement w concessions from both sides or else.

        A.We never should have removed the ban on tech to Putin to let him finish Nordstream II pipeline.
        B. We never should have removed our plan to offer oil to EU to reduce their Russian oil dependence.
        C. We never should have shown such utter incompetence of leadership in the Afghanistan Withdrawal fiasco.
        D.never should have ignored Uk pleas for arms as Putin amassed for weeks on the border and then only started helping when world and home political opinion shifted toward helping Uk, …..(remember Obama would only give Ukraine blankets during the Crimean invasion in ‘14, and Hillary responded by simply “Trying to hit the reset button” with Putin - Biden was following this thinking in ‘21 at the start of the second Putin invasion.
        E. And we NEVER EVER should have given the “Green Light Speech” where doddering Biden said that the US would tolerate a “minor incursion”.
