Not so smart...imagine USPS workers knocking on every door in every apartment building in

New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, etc...or going out to all the far flung fields to count the undocumented immigrants living there (by law all persons living in the U.S....regardless of legal status...must be counted). Not going to happen with the current staff.

No census takers ever knock on EVERY door in the past, Ty.

Of course, but there's no way the existing USPS staff could handle the volume of "Doors"

effectively enough to get a good count...especially when it comes to the situations I noted. Note in the 2020 Census document I linked that census takers often go back up to six times to get needed information at housing units...and the expectation was that nearly 56 million households would need follow up. No way a Postal worker is going to be able to do that...and still fulfill their existing job description.

Not saying this approach would involve "Malice Aforethought", but given that large cities with many apartment complexes are often found in Democratic localities and states, the GOP might not worry about "Under Counting" the residents there.

explanation required.

Thread Level: 5

It's not "of course" in your original post. You asked usps workers to knock on every door.

We dontknow details of this change. But it's a great idea to save $.

Thread Level: 6

It's a thoughtless and unworkable idea...as I've explained.

Knocking on doors and asking a few questions is not a difficult task.

Pretty incredible you don't think USPS employees can handle this.

It's like the walking dead in that place. If I need a nap, I know where I'm going.

I've never seen human beings move at such a slow pace. The PO was always a government quagmire on par with the DMV, but it's deteriorated.

Henceforth, I will delegate that shit to my wife.

Interesting story about his firm and the World Trade Center. Tragic what happened to his business yet it survived and thrived. He has given millions to the families of those who perished.
