Massie vs Trump. I'm supporting Massie. Fuck off Trump, leave the best congressman we have alone.

CR has always been a key play in political establishments playbook. We all know it never reduce reckless spending. This CR will continue spending levels established under the Biden admin last year, which means the CR would automatically appropriate funds for USAID and even for Ukraine, but NO border security fund. Thomas Massie is principled fiscal conservative and support our border security. Of course he won't agree CR.

On the ther hand, if they pass CR, senate can start the reconciliation process which R is in control and border security funds can come from that process. So, I understand why Trump wants this CR to be passed. CR is key for his first year's agenda. If the argument between Trump and Massie is just about CR, I am fine with both of them. But now Trump wants to get rid of Massie through primary. No way! Fuck off, Trump.

Dumb move by Trump. Massie will easily win re-election. The GOP tried to oust Ron Paul for years.

They failed every time. Massie is basically a Paul disciple. Like Paul, he takes his beliefs seriously, as exemplified when he was the only Republican to vote against the Stolen Valor Bill, based on First Amendment grounds. He was right on that. I recall he also voted against censuring one of The Squad members on the same grounds.

I would also note that he voted with Biden only 1.8% of the time, which I believe was the lowest in the House, so he has more conservative cred than any of his GOP critics. He and Chip Roy have the most conservative voting records and both endorsed DeSantis, because DeSantis is far more conservative and principled than Trump.

Eli, why only go back to Biden? Trump was a spending fool before the last admin, right?

And Massie was correct about the nonsensical COVID regulations and abridgements of civil liberties.
