It’s something we all agree on. But not Trump.

This, eliminating DST and reforming the tax code should be agreed upon by all.

His reason was given in Hensou's post and I responded to this thereafter (below).

“In July 2025, former President Donald Trump commented on a bill that would ban members of Congress and their spouses from trading or holding individual stocks.
While initially stating that he liked it "conceptually," according to The Hill, he subsequently criticized Senator Josh Hawley, the bill's Republican sponsor, for playing into the hands of Democrats by supporting a measure that could be used to target a President who has had "unprecedented success," Trump said in a lengthy Truth Social post.
The bill in question, also known as the Honest Act, was originally named after former Speaker Nancy Pelosi. It was later amended to include a ban on stock trading for the President and Vice President, although this ban would not apply to the current administration.
Trump's position appears to stem from a concern that the legislation is a Democratic attempt to undermine him and his achievements. He also suggested that a ban on stock trading could discourage businesspeople and the wealthy from running for office. “

So it won’t affect him personally, but it affects future Pres &VP’s & he’s concerned that it

might discourage future businessmen from running for office (one of the few backgrounds fit to run the country from his perspective…..and he’s not wrong about that).

Hmmm.

I guess that I mildly disagree with Trump.
I would side with Hawley over Trump almost every time.
But I do see his point.
Why not just ban congress to start?
It was Pelosi’s egregious abuse of her position that has pushed this. Address the abusers first without collateral damage & what you can for now since Trump isn’t running for re election & won’t sign it.

It’s a step in the right direction. If Pelosi hates it then it should be signed.

rigorous Transparency and Reporting...Sadly DJT, just after taking office, delayed SEC "Short Sale" (SHO) reporting for one year...and then engaged in outrageous Tariff announcements that he had to know would shock the stock market...PERFECT opportunity for a criminal mind to take advantage of such situations...REPEATEDLY...What are the odds DJT and his closest friends knew about that?...Then there's the "CALL" side, with relaxations of Tariffs...

It's YOUR IRA and Trusts that he just might be playing with...you good with that? Wouldn't you like to know EXACTLY. what the President is doing with his own investments?
