The libs will ignore this and focus on the bravery of retreat and marginalize abandonment.

Most agree it was time to go. Most agree the retreat was poorly planned and executed, leaving many in peril.

The remarkable collapse vindicates the policy, in my view

We were obviously propping up a thoroughly rotten government.

Can anyone really think that, if we had stayed another few years, or ten years, the Afghans would have been able to stand on their own?

And it also undercuts people who say “we just left the wrong way!” It was rotten to the core. It would have collapsed immediately no matter how - or when - we left.

What was the better choice? Stay there forever? Have this collapse occur next year? In five years? Twenty? How many more billions did you want to spend - and how many more American lives did you want to lose? And American blood would have started to flow again, if we didn’t pull out. The Taliban had stopped targeting Americans for more than a year, because of the agreement at Doha to leave…if we didn’t, americans would have started to die again.

and air force. Maybe he thought Taliban is just another JV team. LOL. Can you just stop the spin? The issue is not the collapse, it is it collapsed much much sooner than our president thought. Timing is everything in executing the withdrawal.

The collapse vindicates leaving.. which I supported. It doesn't vindicate how it was handled...

which was an abortion.

It was handled poorly. It would have Still looked like abandonment though if handled perfectly.

No good way to do it, but he did choose the worst way and is paying the political price for it.

And who exactly were we abandoning? A corrupt govt and military leaders who stole billions and an army that wouldn’t fight for that country and regime.

...we'll certainly never know how it might have gone. What we are left with is that it went more poorly than it should have or could have.

However, the feigned outrage by those who said nothing while Orange was kissing the asses of the Taliban is nauseating.
