Congress won't give you the authority to give legal status to illegal aliens, just do it by executive fiat.
Congress won't expand your authority to regulate carbon emission, do it by EPA regs.
Congress won't pass gun control measures, do it by executive fiat. By the way, I have no problem with the measures, just how they were enacted.
Don't like a law you are sworn to faithfully uphold, use your discretion not to enforce it.

While all sorts of conspiracy theories help the GOP hardcore explain the timidity of Boehner and McConnell and the rest of the congressional leadership, I'd like to remind you that the simplest explanation is usually correct: maybe they know that while they can complain politically, in constitutional terms, what Obama is doing is just fine. They know there is nothin illegal. they stoke the fires among the idiot masses to win the political argument, but they have no constitutional legs to stand on.

The simple answer IS almost always right. And that is quite easy here.
It has nothing to do with the blatant unconstitutionality of what Barry is doing.
It has everything to do with what the R's in Congress would have to do to stop it; that being shut down the government including lots of important stuff that they would be blamed for. They are unwilling to pay that political price. Their feckless spinelessness in no way excuses what Obama has done.
But it's laughable to suggest that they don't do anything because they think it's constitutional. They don't do it for self preservation. His highness knows that and continues. And so it goes.
