Nah Orange had nothing to with the abandonment of the Afghans who worked for the U.S.

Wonder which of the bot critics will own this callous disregard.

He could change any policies made by Trump. He could (and did) change the timing. He could have actually planned "contingencies". He could have kept Bagram open. He could have had a coherent communication plan to get the 15,000 Americans out earlier.

It seems like he wanted to shit the bed, all by himself. And he did. Worst policy disaster in a long time...totally on ol' Joe.

Shameful failure. And it continues to get worse due to incompetence from "the pros".

I'm sure he'd be saying, "Don't worry...no one will die...it won't affect the election."

How does that excuse the prior willful incompetency?

It didn’t all start in January 20 or August 21st.

But the question is moot.

One of the main reasons argued for replacing Trump with Biden was to bring competence back to government. This debacle is the opposite of competence. Joe is lost at sea... And therefore the USA is as well.

Sure, in an instant, Biden is expected to correct Trump’s incompetence.

Experienced United States professionals are working the problem. Chaotic? Yes, a tad.

But, it has not broken as bad as I feared. Still a way to go, but Americans are on the ground, fully engaged in the ongoing mission.

Welcome to war. Unpredictability and intelligence failures are part of the deal.

Feel free to hide in your safe room and listen to Doomsday music with your other rear echelon commandos.

He is 100% responsible for the execution of the withdrawal and the intelligence failure.

I have also posted that the clusterfuck optics undermines confidence in Biden’s presidency. It has turned into a humiliating exit from Afghanistan.

Yet, while many posters voice their newly discovered concern for humanity and US standing abroad, we still have boots on the ground. The situation remains dangerous and tenuous, but the United States is actively working through the crisis. To my knowledge, there have thankfully been no American casualties or hostages taken. [Many posters are clearly hoping for things to get worse — more stones to throw at Biden — more ammunition for their Doomsday narrative]

We are largely in this scenario because the Afghan Army folded like a cheap suit. And even though there was “notice” that it could happen, no one contemplated it would take only 11 days. As Commander in Chief, Biden owns the intelligence failure. But, that doesn’t mean we roll over and play dead. Our best people are working through the problem. And I wish them Godspeed.

The Biden admin does not have the anti-immigrant, islamophobe element that would have been resisting the resettlement of Afghans. And not a minor element - Stephen Miller was a top advisor.

This does not get Biden off the hook, obviously.

The stunning stupidity & incompetence of his successor are beyond Trump's imagination then when he designed our new visa system. Yes, it's Trump's fault that he didn't expect Joe is worse than Carter. I agree with you this time.
