(chuckling) Thanks for the confirmation.
"We have to do more for the homeless, starting with giving them homes! Just not in my neighborhood!"
It's truly mind-boggling how difficult it is to capture the depths and extent of how dishonest you folks are. I really don't think you folks actually believe in anything. It's like how when you are triggered you sometimes immediately go to some "homophobic" insult, all after you often decry "homophobia." I don't think you folks care about the homeless any more than you care about "homophobia."

It’s just about signaling to the Left. Symbolism over substance. In addition to not wanting “those
BaronVonZemo 64378 postspeople” near their homes, they also want to use other people’s money (the taxpayers) to pay for homes for them to be put elsewhere.
Their constant accusations of racism are merely projection. They don’t want “those brown skinned people” anywhere near themselves. They also won’t lift a finger of their own to help, but they demand loudly for others fingers to be lifted.

We're not the rich people we were referring to.
It's not our wealth, it's not our privilege that we think is the problem... Have you seen the price of mayonnaise!?!?

Manhattan's Upper East Side has a high percentage of Conservatives...so, don't paint with too
broad a brush...
here's an AI summary in response to the political leanings of such residents...
-----------------
AI OverviewYes, New York City's Upper East Side (UES) residents include both Republicans and Democrats, although the neighborhood is predominantly Democratic in terms of voter registration. It is considered one of the most conservative-leaning areas of Manhattan, serving as a rare, concentrated base of Republican support within the city, particularly for local and mayoral races, while still voting Democratic in most federal elections.
Key political characteristics of the Upper East Side include:
Split Voting Patterns: Residents often exhibit "moderate" or "fiscally conservative" tendencies. They have historically supported Republican mayoral candidates like Rudy Giuliani, Michael Bloomberg (when he ran as a Republican), and Joe Lhota.
Political Concentration: The neighborhood is home to the Metropolitan Republican Club on East 84th Street.
"Top Donor" Status: The 10021 zip code on the UES has historically been one of the top locations in the country for political fundraising, often contributing heavily to Republican, as well as Democratic, presidential candidates.
Affluence and Demographics: As a highly affluent and largely white neighborhood, it attracts a more conservative demographic than other Manhattan neighborhoods, yet it still voted heavily for Democratic presidential candidates in 2016 and 2020.
Recent Trends:
2020/2022 Elections: While Democratic overall, the Upper East Side showed higher rates of Republican voting in 2020 (for Donald Trump) and 2022 (for Lee Zeldin) compared to other parts of Manhattan.2021 Mayoral Race: The area actually swung more leftward in the 2021 mayoral election for Eric Adams.
While Democrats outnumber Republicans,

So you agree, the liberals didn't want it in their backyard, so they put it there.

Only a hyper-partisan loon would describe the UES of Manhattan as "strongly Conservative". It is
TakethetrainKnute 35869 postsmost definitely staunchly Liberal. I used to live and vote there once upon a time.
Are there a handful more conservatives there percentage-wise than, say, the UWS or the Bronx let's say? Sure, some financiers and some "old money" add a few more sprinkles of conservatism in this exceedingly "blue" area. It's still a "tallest midget" argument at best.
You'd have to be left of Mao to posit the Upper East Side of Manhattan as "strongly Conservative". It's a deliberately misleading characterization.

Just read the summary provided…Liberals don’t dominate the UES society as the OP article
tried to falsely imply. It is hard to imagine the Conservatives there being silent and unconcerned over this issue…right?

Utter waste of my time...but breaking my own rule...
TakethetrainKnute 35869 postshere's an AI summary in response to the political leanings of such residents...
-----------------
AI OverviewGenerally considered liberal
The Upper East Side of Manhattan is generally considered liberal. It tends to vote Democratic in elections, with a significant portion of its population being educated and affluent. While it has a mix of Republican voters, the overall political climate is predominantly liberal, with a strong presence of liberal voters and policies.
The last time the Upper East Side voted Republican in a presidential election was in 1920. Since then, the area has consistently voted Democratic in presidential elections...
(Somehow miss the part where I said I had actually lived there?)

If you read the summary, the UES is strongly Conservative and a hot bed of Republican
Donors…therefore the article’s insinuation of only Democrats being involved in opposition to the shelter is patently false…..par for the course in MAGand.
