....it is really obvious that beyond just getting out of the draft, some are USING the military to advance political careers. It's the best pathway at present. That sickens me also. Especially when they end up getting a "safe' assignment using connections.
I have a lot more respect for those who enlisted when called upon to serve their country. or chose it as a career, or simply served for whatever reason but then didn't use it specifically as a political tool.
