We’re in a weird position. The Iranians always lie. Trump always lies.

So now…we have to wait and see what the Pakistanis say?

Here is what Tehran claims:


Iran defeated the enemy in the war, and forced the US to accept a 10-point plan, with secured commitments including:

• No further aggression (including against Iranian allies)
• Iranian control of the Strait of Hormuz
• Acceptance of enrichment
• Removal of all sanctions
• Cancellation of UN resolutions
• Compensation
• US military withdrawal from the region
• and a halt to fighting on all fronts.

According to the NYT, Iran has passed a ten point proposal to the US to end the war.

1. A commitment that Iran will not be attacked again – all American attacks or those of its allies on Iran will cease.

2. A declaration of a permanent end to the war – not just a temporary ceasefire.

3. An end to Israeli strikes against Hezbollah in Lebanon.

4. Removal of all American sanctions on Iran.

5. Cessation of all fighting against Iran’s allies in the region.

6. Opening of a safe passage in the Strait of Hormuz.

7. Payment of a fee for the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz – each ship will pay about $2 million (to Iran).

8. The revenue from the fee will be shared with Oman.

9. Rules will be established for the safe passage of ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

10. Part of the revenue will be used to rehabilitate infrastructure damaged in the war.

It is really the one demand that the new regime would care about the most.

Given past history, they don't care about their people, merely controlling them.
The threat of infrastructure damage is not pushing them to the table either....it is the persistent wiping out of their leadership. They have to be terrified.
