How many years have we had to listen to former Rs, now MAGApublicans claim Dems just want illegal immigrants to vote w/o a shred of proof? No one has provided any data that says these people vote in elections or at a minimum heard a Dem pol slip of tongue claiming this to be true. Yet, how many states are we witnessing their legislating bodies attempt to redraw maps based on partisan demographics? MAGApublicans are the weakest and most pathetic hypocrites known to the Unites States of America.
Dems want votes, of course. And, a new captive voting block in addition to blacks means power...whether they vote illegally or Democrats succeed in getting them amnesty.
But, this is also about census count increases. Even if they don't vote, if they are imported into blue areas, then they increase Congressional seat allotment, as they are counted in the census.
Also, they become new union members, so Dem donors make money off of them. New membership in the service industries is more lucrative for unions than protecting blue collar manufacturing jobs held by Americans.
And, Dems make voting easier for illegals with opposition to ID/citizenship requirements and voter registration/harvesting. There is no legitimate reason to do that. And, in some areas, they are trying to let them vote in local elections, like school board elections. Once they are voting, it will be harder to keep them from voting in national elections.
And, I am curious: why are you upset about reduced numbers of illegals? I thought no one was above the law.

I pointed out it isn't all about votes when it comes to illegals. I can see why you would want to pretend otherwise, but everyone can see through you now on that issue if they didn't already.
When it comes to the other issue, redistricting, there have been blue states with far worse gerrymandering than what the GOP is doing now. Calls for a fair, level playing field went unneeded. You had one team (Team Blue) using an illegal forward pass, and an illegal tush push, etc., and the referees allowed those plays. Calls for referees to enforce the rules by Team Red went unheeded, so now Team Red is using those illegal strategies. Now, Team Blue suddenly decrees those strategies. Seems a little disingenuous.
If you want to correct both Red and Blue, I will stand with you on the law and fairness. If you just want to stop Red, then we can all safely ignore as you are not for the law and fairness, but just pure partisanship.
Republicans have by far and it's not even close benefited by partisan gerrymandering over the last 10-12 years. Between 2012-2016, 59 seats in the US House of Reps were affected by partisan gerrymandering with Rs netting 39 seats. These were all done in mid west and southern states mainly.
The overarching point of my post is the cognitive dissonance in the behavior. You can't say allowing immigrants to skip the lines = more Dem votes (when it doesn't), while actively changing the rules to get more votes because your policies suck!
My comments come from the heavy gerrymandering by Dems in northeastern states. I'm not expert on this. Just commenting on news stories I've seen in the past. I would be happy to look at your data. I condemn gerrymandering on both side; do you? Granted, I don't have a fix for it; do you?
BTW, my football analogy is not limited to this issue. It relates to so many things, and Trump is the first one to adopt Democrat tactics instead of just analyzing the refs, which is why you hate him so much. When you are able to see abuses on both sides instead of just one, we will be ready to fix things. Until then, game on. Why should the GOP govern with one hand tied behind its back?
It cancels out the votes of registered American citizens. Dem Rep, Yvette Clarke (D-NY) ...."I need more immigrants in my district for redistricting purposes". There's a reason Dems do not favor voter ID. Red states know how to play the gerrymandering game. California and Illinois are the poster children of this tactic.
Why would someone who is trying to keep their head down and get by in American society risk that by trying to vote - especially when the odds are stacked highly against success?
Believe it or not, people don't come to this country in order to vote against the GOP.
