Not sure if I'll get any responses to this or not, but I am genuinely curious.
people with common sense can be boring or nerdy. However, at least we aren't squirrely, head cases like so many Democrats.
There are both types on both sides. But if you think of an engineer, more often than not they will be conservative. If you think of an artist, more often than not they will be liberal. You need both types and it relates to the trait of Openness. More open people are often more creative, good at starting a business for example. Less open are better and running and sustaining a business.

I think there's a reason for it though. The D base is a loose group of special interest or one issue voters. Hard to communicate when there is so much rational thought that would offend some portion of your base.

As long as they have their own fifedom, these weak and worthless Republicans are content. Many R voters are "let's get along" good people with good intentions. The same ones who were proud to cross the line and vote for the first black president then tell everybody about it. They looked past the "fundamental change in America" and "you better learn Spanish" warnings. Every state and locality has their Republican version of John Cornyn and John Thune. Indiana just rid ourselves of 5 of them the other day. More to come.
How do you feel about Thomas Massey? He and Fetterman are my 2 favorite senators.
