Question for Chris. If the war caused Iran to close the Strait of Hormuz,

Didn't that mean they could just have closed it at anytime anyway? Were they just looking for an excuse?

The region (and the industry) will adjust over time now, and Iran's ability to bring the world to the edge of depression will decrease.

It seems to me that being attacked without provocation while negotiations were going on is a pretty good reason to use their one shot. The war caused the havoc, obviously.

they can create a global recession if someone like Trump or Netanyahu seeks to change their regime. Previous U.S. Presidents...their Military Advisors...and National Intelligence understood this and found less costly means through patient negotiations...with global partners...to achieve the most immediate and strategic goal...control of Iran's nuclear program (see JCPOA).

Trump continually shows childish impatience, on top of ignorance and an unwillingness to learn...and the sad part is that we are the ones who have to pay for it.

Not Chris but weird assumption. Like any of the OPEC countries could stop pumping oil but they don't
