leaves him about where he was before the war, and making the agreement primarily because public opinion in his country had turned against it, and because of the economic ramifications, and how those ramifications will affect voting choices? So classically authoritarian. This is just how Hitler acted. A dull, unsophisticated mind would read this as example #87 of a non-ideological, pragmatic leader, but, of course, such rubes don't know any better.
