As for my understanding, I'm not a nuclear physicist, but I have an Engineering Masters Degree with a focus on Energy technologies, especially Nuclear...plus 10 years of work experience in the Nuclear Power field as both an engineer and Program Manager for Fast and Thermal Reactors...i.e. I understand more than most people do about this subject.

The JCPOA tripled the number of IAEA inspectors in Iran. They had full access to any site.

The Iranians could delay the inspections, but HEU is detectable in the environment for a year, so that made no difference.

It was Safeguards Inspection during JCPOA era - verifying Iran was not building weapons and its nuclear facilities were used for peaceful purpose.

Now Safeguards Inspection becomes pointless since Iran already openly told the whole world they reached 60% at the Natanz Pilot Plant on April 16, 2021, 5 years ago. After threshold of uranium enrichment was broken, the nature of Iran nuclear plants have become nuclear weapon facilities and military targets during the war.

Comparing today’s IAEA inspection on Iran’s military nuclear facilities to IAEA’s Safeguards Inspection on Iran’s nuclear program for peaceful purpose (they claimed) during JCPOA is misleading. I can’t believe you hold the same superficial understanding about this issue as Ty did.

I reiterate my point. Iran nuclear facilities are military facilities now, similar to U.S. military base. If IAEA is allowed to come to Iran to inspect its nuclear facilities, it is inspection on military nuclear facilities. It never happened before to any war parties during the war. The nature of this inspection is not safeguards inspection.

Note, Safeguards Inspection is not Nuclear Safety inspection which is to prevent nuclear accidents.

Also, I was under the impression that future inspections will be at choice of US/IAEA, not at choice of Iran.

Also, no sunset provision like in JCPOA, which would have expired by now.

But, it really is too early to tell what the final deal will be, so Tyrone needs to get his criticisms in now when he can criticize a non-agreement (like they were doing weeks ago). Regardless, if the new deal gives Iran a path to nuclear weapons like the JCPOA, I also will criticize it.

through physical inspection within Iran that their only nuclear program would be to provide 3.67% enriched Uranium fuel for Thermal Nuclear Reactors that power their nation's electric power grid...which the IAEA inspectors verified. It was only AFTER Trump ripped the document up that Iran produced over 900 lbs of 60% enriched Uranium. So, as the attached IAEA document explains, the world could be assured that so long as the JCPOA was in effect, Iran would not be capable of producing a Nuclear Weapon.

As for "Sunset Provisions", the same levers that brought about the JCPOA in the first place (e.g. Sanctions and Frozen Assets) could be ramped up should Iran choose not to continue with it...all without loss of life, or economic chaos for all nations. Note that we could have then...and could still now...offer options for U.S. assistance (with continued IAEA oversight) to Iran in building out a peaceful nuclear power energy strategy...thus toning down the "Death to America" chants and maybe even find a pathway to Peace in the ME...just my thoughts.

Lets hope current negotiations head more in that direction, than the one Trump chose at the beginning of this needless war.
