It's odd that prominent Democrats are preparing for presidential campaigns in 2028, given that Trump will be unquestioned dictator at that point and will never leave office.

He's an odd sort of autocrat, isn't he? Allows rival parties to exist and prosper. Allows elections
in which candidates from the rival party win and doesn't hold Saddam or Putin type "elections." Places people at the highest levels of government who previously denounced him. Submitted himself to the legal system when he could've removed or perhaps seized and executed the petitioners, prosecutors, and judges. You'll forgive me, but I have never seen a single other autocrat who did any of these things. Huh...

You are trying to use the textbook definition of the term "autocrat". These people don't know the definition of that word any better than they understand terms like "violence", "democracy", "equity" or "woman".
