This war effort has become a 100% personal boondoggle for Trump as he attempts to leave his legacy and "best" Obama. Trump suffers from severe, severe ODS and it leads him to make horrible decisions for what is best for the US. American men and woman are being killed for what reason now, gain control of the Strait? Mind you we attacked Iran, it wasn't the other way around.
That tax would not meaningfully raise oil prices.
Escalation risks (1) forever war and (2) global economic meltdown.
The cost/benefit analysis is not close.
Reasons:
1. The are the primary funder of terrorism in the region. Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis.
2. They were enriching uranium for no purpose other than to make nukes.
3. They are a jihadist death cult that would have used the first nuke they got to attack Israel.
4. They slaughtered 30K of their own citizens.
5. They have plotted to assassinate our president. (I'm sure you won't care about this one)
It means nothing that they are threatening to hold the Strait of Hormuz hostage and enact tolls even now that their air force and navy are destroyed. That is all the more reason to insult their intelligence and believe they never even thought of, and had no intensions of, controlling the strait when they were able to project maximum strength backed by a nuclear weapon.
Besides, even if we allowed them to control the strait and obtain a nuclear weapon, Iran has certainly shown themselves to be completely trustworthy. We could certainly rely on them to charge a small fee to control a vital aspect of the world economy. With their track record of proven reliability, they would never ratchet up their demands, and why wouldn’t we trust them with a nuclear weapon?
The problem is that previous presidents didn’t appease enough or pay enough for them to get the job done …
And then … Oh, … wait….
You apparently learned nothing.

It's like Syria without troops on the ground for over a decade.

When we go to war, we go as a nation, with the blessing of our elected representatives.
This invasion didn’t even satisfy the parameters of the War Powers Act, as discussed in numerous threads during the first week.
We have a Constitution — which you posted on July 4th is the #1 thing that makes America great.
The decision to invade was never vetted by Congress.
Just like Somalia, Libya, Yemen, Syria (we're still there, BTW), etc.
This war is unprecedented in its scope, cost, and recklessness without legal authority and justification.

moments before on the most ludicrous expenditures that have a track record of not working, and in the next breath will decry the price tag on some policy they dislike. Instantaneous deficit hawks!
the exact opposite. Where they are "conservative" is taking away benefits for the less fortunate. Anything else they spend like drunken sailors.
>The JCPOA was unquestionably effective in limiting uranium enrichment to 3.67%...and no plutonium pathway either.
>Freezing of assets got Iran to agree to that deal...not bombs on schools
>Netanyahu and his fellow Zionists help perpetuate a Holy War with hard line Iranian Shiites...and keep a potential 2-State Solution to ME unrest.
>Previous U.S. administrations have rejected Bibi's pleas for a military 'Solution'.
Trump is an Idiot.
The reason we got involved is because tbe Israeli government convinced the US. Be precise outside talking points that you believe without evidence.
Because we show tremendous restraint, we can never stop showing such restraint?
F*** Iran. Stop defending them. They deserve what they have gotten so far. Frankly, they deserve more. If we stop, we should do so to show strength, not to surrender to them like you would prefer. If we allow the IRGC to continue to exist, we have to realize that it means that this is not over, and we will be periodically bombing Iran until the Iranian people step up and take the IRGC down.

If that was bad Intel, you still have my 5 points to address.
As for enrichment, juat take Trump's DNI assessment
As Director of National Intelligence (DNI), Tulsi Gabbard provided congressional testimony that placed the U.S. intelligence community (IC) at odds with President Donald Trump's justifications for military action against Iran. Gabbard maintained that Iran was not actively building a nuclear weapon and had not restarted the weapons program it suspended in 2003

We will all suffer the costs and consequences.
It’s hard to believe that Trump’s incompetence exceeds his corruption.
It appears other Arab nations will be required to find a solution, none of which will address Iran’s nuclear program.

not get sucked into a Holy War by Bibi Netanyahu.
What's your current impression of Trump's Foreign Policy decision making now?

We had peace and prosperity when Biden left office...the polar opposite of what's going on now...ALL because of our Malignant Narcissist President's actions. I suspect that's why you won't/can't explain your "Pipe Dream".
There's a reason why Trump's Approval Ratings are plummeting...leaving folks like you as the only supporters left...Says a lot about the MAGA cultists...
Appeasement doesn't work. Payoffs don't work. The Saudis hated the deal and they are a million times more connected than a message board cowboy like you. Iran has lied, killed, and threatened for 47 years but you have the inside dope that everything is on the square. Your TDS is bad for this nation.
Iran and monitoring ALL nuclear related programs to Verify that Uranium enrichment did not exceed 3.67%...i.e. nowhere near Nuclear Weapons grade. Also, the same 'incentives' (e.g. Frozen Assets) would be reapplied if Iran refused to continue allowing the IAEA monitoring.
Note that DJT announced plans to Un-Freeze Iranian assets last month...with no agreement from Iran on how those billions will be spent by them. Still no control over Iran's Uranium stockpiles...no true Regime Change...no assured opening of the Strait of Hormuz...i.e. a total disaster/failure, while we deplete expensive weapon stores that will take years to replace...cross your fingers that we...Ukraine...Israel, or NATO don't need them in the meantime.
Dems want DJT to demonstrate his "Art of the Deal" and end this war ASAP. Bombs haven't worked thus far.and an international economic recession is looming. Btw, with oil prices likely to jump before long w/o an end to the war, Iran's partner in crime...Putin (who has provided their Nuclear Technology)...stands to make a lot of money, while weakening all his foes...especially with his chosen President in office...chew on that for awhile...
Iran wants us destroyed and your idiotic little talking points won't ever change that. Ever.
have nothing left to say.
…..but those instant regurgitations of every Daily Kos update are ginchy.
