It appears that Deborah Birx tried to stay in the Trump admin's good graces, rather than
join Dr. Fauci and others in taking the prudent course wrt Lockdowns and School Closings...i.e. make sure vaccines were available, and then treat each locality on a case-by-case basis as to its level of infection and building capabilities (e.g. ventilation) before opening up...sound prudent judgement with saving lives as the guiding principle...not economic output prior to an election.

Prudent: marked by wisdom, judiciousness, or restraint. The COVID reaction failed to be prudent in
every possible way.
It was raw politics in its crudest form, thoughtless, knee jerk and simplistically brutal.
We had refrigerated tractor trailers in Hospital parking lots taking the overflow of corpses
from the morgues in those Hospitals in mid-March and April of 2020...and you're arguing now that lockdowns and school closings were "Imprudent"???
We had the vast majority of folks under no serious threat,,, especially children.
If it is so damn dangerous how come no one who is not compromised today is remotely concerned?

You have a case of selective memory loss...the lockdowns and school closures took place in the midst
of the Novel COVID-19 emergence...with no vaccines available. For an airborne pathogen that was not only deadly, but transmissible by asymptomatic persons...including children...it was essential that people not congregate in large numbers until the vaccines were available...i.e. late 2020, at which time...on a case by case basis for localities, reopening of facilities was allowable.
The whole interview is worthwhile not just clips Rs like. She's very complimentary of Fauci.

Okay, we need to break this down I guess.
Fauci lied to Congress under oath and lied to the American people. Savvy citizens knew this already, but it wasn't until the publication of the diary and emails that happened recently that there was undeniable (as much as you try) evidence of the fact.
There isn't evidence that Fauci lied because he was directed to by the president. In fact, you could infer that he lied to undermine the president.
What the interview with Birx reveals is that the president did not want to shut down, but Fauci advised Democrat governors to do it privately.
You seem to want to hold the president accountable for an unelected bureaucrats insubordination but not the insubordinate (Fauci). Do I have this right?
