Has the educational system reset its’ academic expectations back to preCOVID levels?

The avg 2nd grader this fall would have been 1 yo when COVID hit, and 3 yrs old at the end of lockdown (some 4 yrs old in CA).

Have you seen anything re this? Please tell me it is being reset.
