Couple these experiences with the illegal and unnecessary War on Iran and it is one more example of how Trump is tearing apart every facet of America's greatness...which begs the question...is this all by accident?

Btw, my nephew was on the Ford during its deployment...and we care very much for his safety and well-being. Such extended deployments...without Just Cause...is detrimental to not only the active duty personnel on board, but also their immediate families. It's also not good for future recruitment, or re-enlistments...thus making American less strong.

And being confined to a ship for a long period of time. In this case, I will wait to hear from some people that I know who are on the Lincoln.

My theory is that morale is low, but that can be attributed to an overextended deployment. Supply shortages, food, plumbing issues and such is troubling if true.

Every long deployment is bound to be tough - they signed up to do a job. It's why they get the respect that they do.

Here is a fact…there was a deployment meeting with over 200 family members of sailors on the Lincoln. The meeting was taken to address concerns. It appears quite a few sailors who were fortunate enough to make contact with their families expressed frustration over food shortages, plumbing issues, contaminated water, et al.

I have some colleagues whose spouses serve on the Lincoln. I’ll let you know what they say upon their return.

I can't speak to the conditions aboard ship now, but suspect that those conditions, both during covid and now, are far better than the conditions on the carriers during their very extended deployments during WWII...probably like living in a resort compared to that.

I don't think any of this should be part of any political or strategy discussion. Navy sailors go to sea for extended periods of time. I assume they knew this before volunteering.

And if there was/is a problem, sailors deserve clean water, food, and no plumbing problems.

There are many, many legitimate issues that also could have been dragged out against other admins in other wars. This one has proved to be illegitimate - at least in its' most bombastic claims.

We were headed home with stops in Thailand, PI and Hawaii. Uss Ranger caught on fire so we turned around and relieved them for another 65 days in GONZO again for over 65 days then hit PI and Hawaii on the way home. I survived
Second cruise was over 9 months because of 2 line periods on GONZO of over 65 days a pop. Then again on way home Kitty Hawk lost steering, major hydraulic issues so again… turned around and relieved them for quite a while before returning home to YOKOSUKA, again I survived.
I am still friends with about 10 fellow ship mates and we all say… what a great experience to overcome and adapt.
Great life lesson for in between the ears.
