Poll: Do you still want to watch human acting in the movies in the near future?

To answer it please don’t be bothered by the mass-produced low quality AI videos which ran rampant and now are being cracked down by YouTube aggressively.

Mork Episode 1, however, is a good one, made fully by generative AI and can be used as the standard of AI movies. See the link.

Since many mainstream movies are bombarded with special effects and cartoonish action figures,

who would notice a real human anyways?

It's starting to feel like AI understands humans better than we understand ourselves.

It'll never replace live music and comedy and the like, but for digital media it will dominate and people will accept it because without struggle we want to be entertained. IMO.

You think AI can recreate the artistic beauty of Olivier, Burton, Bergman, or Schwarzenegger?!

Visual beauty? Yes! Subtle emotion? May match Schwarzenegger’s, but probably not others’.

I've already accepted that it's a better and more creative programmer than I am. It's fine, I like gardening and shit.

My specialty is particularly insulated however.

And wrt surgery, remember that there are significant anatomical variations from person to person as well that even good AI programs would struggle with, and robotic science would fail (at present anyways). Wrt obstetrics, I'm really not worried since it requires not just knowledge but physical skill and recognition of sudden problems with sudden need.
There's also a very important role for compassion within the Dr/Pt relationship (esp in OB imo) that AI can never fill.

They can certainly have lesser trained people catch babies in regular deliveries...I've never argued that. You don't even need AI for that imo. But the thing about it is that cases are often smooth and typical until suddenly and emergently, they are not.

I do believe that AI will replace family doctors, PA's and Nurse practitioners.....with some oversight by a good doctor. For better or worse, it is coming.

What do you know about surgery? It's not your specialty so you're not qualified to comment

I've always been stunned that society allows a man to look at vaginas all day and get paid well.

AI and robotics will exceed every aspect of what you consider your competitive advantage.

Enjoy it while it lasts.

If I had your job, I would look at donuts and a number of other food items differently too.
