I read an article in 2023 saying by 2030 Phoenix and Las Vegas may have to be abandoned

Gee, putting a gazillion people into a desert environment drawing water from one river...gee, what could go wrong?

I also read the river compact was based on a faulty assumption of how much water actually flows; they based it on abnormally wet years and thought the river flowed at 16.4 acre-feet per year when it's really only 12.4.

This time-lapse video is remarkable, showing the reduction in size of Lake Mead correlating directly to the growth in Las Vegas Metro area, from 1 million people to today's 3 million.

It’s Colorado River crisis. The reservoir is just a consequence of that crisis. You use the crisis

For your political agenda.

The Colorado River crisis is primarily because the river is over used, its water has been over allocated. The Colorado River Compact of 1922 promised more water to 7 very dry states than the river naturally flow when you look at the rapid growth of these states in terms of population, industry and agriculture. Of course the river won’t feed enough water to the reservoirs eventually.

snowmelt is definitely diminishing...consistent with global temperature data...btw, this same scenario is playing out in the European Alps...ski areas are opening later and closing earlier...you can Google that yourself.

Taking out too much water is the primary reason. Everything else is minor. Stop using CC as excuse.

If CC is the primary reason why Amazon river has too much water now? And its flooding increased by 5 folds. Why Mississippi River has too much water? Its flooding on Midwest increased a lot too recently?

Not ideal.
