Thanks for that...here's my take: Any President with a clear head would sign the first two Bills...

totalling $2.9T...the first was desperately needed due to the economic chaos of COVID, and the second is overwhelmingly supported by both parties and a long-overdue investment...as for the third, the $1.75T (not "B" as in the article) has yet to be 'Scored' by the CBO...and frankly, IMO if the Trump Tax Gift is bumped back up a bit, we should see very little increase...especially over 10 years...Also, let's not forget the effort to boost IRS collection efforts to reap in a good portion of the $6T over 10 years that we are currently hemorrhaging...that should take care of the fiscal worries.

Your $6 trillion tax shortfall figure is garbage.

The "study" it comes from is an absolute joke with footnotes that are downright comedic.

There is no $6 Trillion just waiting to be collected from tax cheats. Three minutes consideration would make that completely obvious to anyone.

What do you say the actual tax recovery number should be?...it sure isn't Zero.

It's lower than whatever cost you want to propose to hire IRS auditors.

Liberals think evil masterminds are hiding taxable income everywhere. It is extremely difficult for the vast majority of people to hide any income. It is doubtful that an army of auditors could cover there own salaries... With the unfortunate side effect of enraging productive citizens.

Here's an article that claims an achievable $1T out of the estimated $6T in unpaid taxes...btw, as

our former WH office holder goes through his NY and NYC court appearances, we might get a glimpse into how he and his friends have avoided the IRS all these years...this should be tons of fun.

Trump was audited literally every year.

They audit the complex situations. There is no way tax fraud happens on any giant scale. To suspect it does just shows how ignorant you are. Do you have any concept of how many lawyers and accountants have to sign off on the average billionaire's taxes? Of course they will push things to the legal limit, but none of these guys wants to go to jail for Jeff Bezos.

As for Trump...let's just wait and see how the Manhattan and Westchester County cases turn out.

Seems like the audit process may have missed a few things.

Or, what if we start over on federal tax legislation?

...which, as I start to read the article, seems to be what she is saying. Good piece. Accurate assessment.

For you young folk... the Great Society declared a war on poverty and we did worse in that one than we did in Viet Nam.
