before, I've voted several times for Republican Presidents...Reagan(2x), HWB, GWB(2x), and I believe Frank has a similar record. We need responsible, conservative "Public Servants" as an inherent political balance. What the GOP has evolved into over the last few decades is now becoming toxic to our democratic foundation...hence the public displays of disapproval for Donald Trump by so many prominent Republicans listed in the attached link.

centers of gravity (not sure I like that description, but...)...i.e. Conservative and Liberal. IMHO we need honest effective representation for both 'camps' that share a desire for "Public Service" and the "Common Good"...sadly, today's GOP fails that test miserably (witness the list of disaffected Republicans), so it's incumbent on all those of the Conservative persuasion to purge themselves of the ills most recently manifested by our former President and get back to bedrock conservative values...especially respect for our institutions. It's a hard pill to swallow, so hopefully enough folks will have the courage to take it.

used the term "coalesce" to simplify for ease of discussion...if you want to get into all the facets, take a peek at the attached article...we could spend a little time on the 'Pros' and 'Cons' of listening to fringe groups like the "Neo Libs". BTW, back a few decades, when I was working on 'Fast Reactors', my wife and I attended a dinner party at the home of her parents' friends in a 'tony' section of the Bay Area...afterward, over dessert and wine, a conversation began over an Anti-Nuclear ballot proposition that was a hot topic then...and of course I shared some info and opinion regarding the nuclear technology...turns out, the hosts' son and some friends were more than a little in favor of the proposition and when my wife and I got in our car to go home, I found that one of the tires had been slashed...so, I'm not oblivious to the behaviors of extremists...left or right.

there?...Absolutely!...however, I have engaged my own Congressman personally in face-to-face meetings on an issue near and dear to me...Nuclear Power. While I appreciate his openness on that issue, I really admire his fundamental 'Ethos' when it comes to the American Experience...case in point...he's a native born American, but his parents are immigrants from India. Throughout his tenure in Congress he's held monthly Town Hall meetings with pre-meeting gatherings for groups and individuals with concerns/questions as well as post-meeting greeting lines for well wishers and petitioners. Coincident with those Town Halls for over a year, he was subjected to vigorous and vocal opposition outside the venues...by constituents of Indian descent!...a major concern of theirs was that he joined in meetings of a Pakistani caucus, their bitter rivals. In spite of the discomfort, he repeatedly explained that as the Congressman for his district, he represented ALL citizens and as such he needed to understand the Pakistani perspective as well as his own innate understanding to the Indian position. This is my view of a "Public Servant"...don't need to line up on every issue, but I certainly want someone who has to courage to stand for the phrase "E Pluribus Unum"...they do exist and he's not the only one...on either side of the aisle.

Let's get rid of the easily identifiable 'fakers', and rebuild the GOP.

You're happy with people like the squad and older than dirt Pelosi and Schumer? You can throw in McConnell with them. These are life long politicians who have gotten extremely rich as a "public servant". You see me calling them scumbags as a mis-statement but I see as being dead on the money. They care little to any about the people who they represent and worry about lining their pockets.

Washington in general needs to be flushed and term limits need to be established.

egregious that all else pales in comparison...this much needed 'intervention' must not be diminished by the distraction of searching for some level of "succor" in the other party's mis-steps. First things first.
