That article mirrors a conversation I had with our ICU Doc over the weekend...

what got my attention was this excerpt from the NYT article...

"Earlier that day, my colleague had explained to her what had happened during her long hospital stay and what might come next in rehab. Then he paused and shifted his tone, telling his patient that she should let go of whatever guilt or shame she might be carrying over not getting vaccinated. She had made a mistake, but what is a hospital if not a place where we care without judgment for the many consequences of human fallibility? She started to cry. And then she asked him if she could get the shot. She received her first dose shortly after."

Our Doc shared a story where a couple who were not vaccinated ended up together in the ICU of friend's hospital and one of them didn't make it out...the surviving spouse later committed suicide because they had dissuaded their partner from getting vaccinated...while not a common occurrence, it shows the degree of mental anguish in such settings.

As sad as that story is, it was also mentioned that many of the unvaccinated patients (i.e. virtually all COVID ICU cases) and their families have become 'unruly' and belligerent...case in point...one family member came to the hospital and started throwing rotten eggs all over while ranting about the care!...I couldn't believe it, but it's true...they are convinced that the staff is screwing everything up by not following 'their' instructions.

Not sure how much we'll learn from this experience, but a lot of people need to get 'educated'.

The overwhelming data re vaccinated vs unvaccinated should be the best teacher.

Click on their data link.

Tons of information and numbers re their vaccination efforts, which is commendable. But, zilch on hospitalizations and deaths (vaccinated v unvaccinated).

Governors (and the President) should be pounding that data, over and over -- pushing the added narrative that we all need to do our part -- freeing up doctors and nurses to care for patients with medical issues unrelated to COVID.

Likely never happened.

As far as the video I think an allegedly educated man posted a Martin sheen clip of west wing in a vain attempt to prove some foolish point. But it also did me a favor. It's a reminder that people who profess a Christ centered life aid and abet unspeakable sinful acts and do so in His name. A good reminder of the evil that lurks proceeding as light when they are indeed actually evil men. I used it as a cautionary tale. That I must be on guard for people such as yourself. So thank you!

As for the video...hopefully others watched it, too...it is a compelling display of how very old adages from very different times, cultures and circumstances can be totally irrelevant to today's understandings...case in point...homosexuality. Are there people who don't like it and seek to discriminate against such people?...obviously, as your comments seem to indicate...but thankfully, more and more people are choosing to abide by a theology of "Love" versus "Hate".

text on Civil Law. People today are using religious documents created by persons in cultures thousands of years ago to justify opinions that modern understanding no longer supports. I am not "anti-Bible", but we don't live in a "Chapter and Verse" world...there is a 'Great Deal' of "Nuance" that needs to be absorbed and discerned...ergo, the VAST amount of theology writings and discussions that are on-going...and which we should engage in ourselves when it comes to issues like "Homosexuality" and "Abortion"...hopefully, you agree and are willing to open your mind as true seekers of truth are compelled to do.

Oh, and don't try to slap any labels on me...that's just an attempt to fallaciously seize the 'high ground'...let's just discuss these issues honestly and in as scholarly a fashion as possible.

What was spoke in Leviticus in the short video was an example of Israel civil law in the Old Testament.

"Because modern society and culture are so radically different from that time and setting, all of these guidelines cannot be followed specifically. But the principles behind the commands are timeless and should guide our conduct. Jesus demonstrated these principles by example." So this civil law. The selling of slaves that you spoke of. Or more accurately Mr Sheen spoken of in the link you provided.

Moral law requires obedience. It reveals Gods nature. Jesus followed moral law completely. Christians attempt to follow His example. You're confusing the 3 types of biblical law. It's not unusual.

Ironic that you cry about being labeled when you quite happily labeled me a hateful bigot who wishes to discriminate. Hypocrite.

and your perspective represents an ever smaller minority in each...wouldn't you want to understand why that is?

You might have a case for accusing me of labeling you as discriminatory, but don't forget that we have laws on the books that clearly make it illegal to discriminate against members of the LGBTQ community and I sense that you aren't a supporter of their rights...or are you?...if you aren't, then I don't know that my labeling you as a discriminator (bigot) is in error.

I've no doubt your cherry picked polls reflects your sinful nature. I am certain I could just as easily find a poll among born again "fundamentalists" who find homosexuality an abomination. Based on Gods moral law - not civil or ceremonial law.

And not that I owe you an ounce of explanation about myself but I would never discriminate against a homosexual in any manner. I would also not lie to them. My brother come out a few years ago and my wife and I hosted him and his partner shortly before Christmas. He knows my feelings and yet we manage to love one another anyway. So you can do me a favor Tyrone.....

attached...you can also find "YouTube" testimonials to that as well.

All I can say is that I passed along the unsolicited 'vignette' as I recall hearing it...the essence is that someone hurled eggs in a hospital because they were upset about the care that was being provided for a COVID patient...I did not put on my "Ace Investigative Reporter Hat" and grill our ICU Doc on all the particulars...again, my jaw dropped on hearing this, and said something to the effect of "You're kidding me, right?"...but no, there was no joke to be found.

Thanks to people like Alex Jones and Joe Rogan, a distressingly large number of U.S. citizens have lost trust and confidence in our medical professionals...not good. It's going to take a lot of work to restore sanity..."Accountability" for such people is a good start.

He has a misunderstanding of ceremonial law, civil law and moral law that's spoken of in scripture. Specifically as it relates to Israel. Such was the silliness about Leviticus that he posted previously. Civil law was what Mr. Sheen was referring to in the short video and what is fundamental to Tyrone's misunderstanding.

But as I stated, it served as a helpful reminder. So for that I am grateful.
