If prosecutors really dont bring Gates to testify, seems it's a weak case. Manaford was investigated
by federal government before and it was ended up with no prosecution. Also, Manaford never got audit from IRS. To make the case strong enough for Manaford to be guilty this time, Mueller team have to let Gates come to the court to give testimony. He is the game changer. But this will bring up cross-examination on the court which opens the room for defense side to play offense on Gates and maybe ends up with "he said he said" situation which Manaford side really want.
