The more stories you hear about this guy, the clearer it is that he was a man of remarkable character for a modern politician. He wasn't perfect (you can't be and succeed in politics), and I disagreed with some of his decisions, but his modesty and sense of honor are rare in presidents.

Now, they are just trying to make themselves look good. The only time that they ever said a kind word about HW back then was when he broke his campaign promise to do what the Dems wanted him to do. In truth, he was a good man in his conservative endeavors as well. But I still remember the media banging away that he was "so out of touch that he doesn't know what a cash register in a supermarket is", that he was a war monger, and that he was too stupid to have reasonable economic policies. Basically, they only liked him when he did what THEY (the liberal media) wanted. They even blamed him for colluding with his son to seek revenge on Sadam Hussein later on.
We who are old enough to know better are rolling our eyes at the media's sudden gushing love affair with GHW Bush. I'm glad that they are at least late to the table, but they shouldn't pretend to have been sitting at it all along.

If you can’t see the decency and humility of this man versus the asshole who is currently in the Oval, you are even more pathetic than I first thought.
