Can you tell from my posts below that I finally decided read up on all this Flynn bullshit? Looks like Eli got this right, and you guys are just hoping to drown him out, because most non-anti-Trumpers don't care enough to read up on this stuff (like me until tonight).

His disgust was because he thought Flynn represented a foreign country while he was national security advisor. But, the judge was wrong. That had never been alleged by anyone until the judge brought it up in court today. I'm guessing the judge gets his news from the same blogs read by ND521.

advisor to a major party prez candidate who then appoints you to be national security advisor. A foreign govt that just paid you $500K.

Would be helpful if you would actually name something he did that was illegal.
People in Reagan's and Obama's administration were corresponding with enemies before they took office. This is quite common. Flynn was working with Turkey (an ally) and the Russian backed Ukrainian leadership...both of whom Podesta was working for.
The unregistered lobbyist thing I also understand is commonplace, and is usually rectified with a retroactive filing and a fine.
If you want to charge all these unregistered lobbyists with treason, be my guest. Please just be consistent.

He represented a NATO ally without registering as a lobbyist. Tony Podesta did the same thing with the same country. Both filed retroactive lobbying registrations. Flynn was charged, and Podesta was not. Hmmm.
Also, the lie he is charged with had nothing to do with his lobbying. His interview with the FBI was not about his lobbying.
I'm starting to think you either don't know what Flynn did (even though you lob accusations), or you are just counting on everyone else here on UHND not knowing what Flynn actually did.

Keep in mind that the judge knows a lot more than we do. He’s seen the classified stuff. And he’s pissed.

Let's unpack that so it is not misleading.
Flynn was charged with lying about specific things discussed with the Russian ambassador. You didn't list any of those things. So, the "lies" you are talking about were not the "lies" being discussed in court, or being charged by the FBI.
I assume when you say he "lied" you are talking about his failure to register as a lobbyist, something that is fairly common, and handled with retroactive filings like the ones Podesta filed because like Flynn, he also failed to register as an agent for the Russian-backed Ukrainian president (I'm guessing that is what you guys mean when you say "the Russians"), and the nation of Turkey. Same clients as Flynn. Same offense as Flynn. Do you think all unregistered lobbyists are traitors to the country? (I put "lie" in quotes because it is not clear to me that being an unregistered lobbyist is the same thing as lying.)
If my assumption is incorrect, and you are talking about a different "lie" that I didn't mention above, let me know.

But tedious is not necessarily truthful and can still be misleading. However, Treason is technically the wrong term. Flynn lied to the FBI about his dealings with the Head Russian spy, but more importantly he Betrayed his country, betrayed his office, and betrayed his oath of office. He was certainly opened up to blackmail by a foreign government. Sometimes people that serve with great distinction become jaded and believe they are owed something for all those good years. Bad judgement and decisions then follow and the reputation of distinction is ruined. Flynn’s lies and betrayals are not a partisan issue or a political point of view. This behavior is criminal and should have consequences. If Podesta did the same type of things as Nedo says then he should be charged. But the position that Flynn had in the campaign, transition team, and administration make this rise to the attention of the country and SC

We don’t know what he told the FBI. We don’t know what he said to the Russians. We don’t know what happened in Moscow, when he took money from Putin.
We know it was serious enough for the DAG to go to the White House and warn them that Flynn was lying, and was compromised. Open to being blackmailed.
And we know that Mueller and the judge know what went down. And both think it’s serious; the latter thinks it’s treasonous. Mueller might too.
We don’t know everything, Ned. But we know enough to draw some logical conclusions. Unless we are willfully ignorant.

And, just like Flynn, he filed a retroactive registration. Podesta not prosecuted. Flynn prosecuted. That's the country you want: one where people are prosecuted for the poltical affilation, not the crime they commit. If their political affiliation is correct, they get immunity or at least no prosecution.

Do you think a Judge has a good day when, during a sentencing hearing, he questions whether a defendant has committed treason and then has to walk his questioning back in a groveling sort of way?
Picture yourself in Flynn's shoes. You pleaded guilty to perjury. You should get no time, as 2/3 of defendants who plead guilty to perjury do. But your sentencing judge then accusingly asks you if you committed treason. Is this a good day in court in your mind?
I don't know why I am responding to you. You like to stir up shit just because.

Flynn's plea and his cooperation were both done to avoid much bigger charges.
He served honorably for 30+ years; only in the last three did he turn into a traitor. He was unregistered agent of a foreign country while serving as National Security Advisor to the President.
Let that sink in, and pretend - just for a second - to care about your country.
