Our poor left cannot defend Maduro... because Russia is supporting him.
Our old Stalinists must be rolling over in their graves.

Socialism works everywhere it's been tried. Let's try it!
In Cuba they are still driving cars made in the 50's. Venezuela (a country with some of the largest oit reserves in the world) they are starving in the streets.Europe is failing in spite of Uncle Sam paying for most of their defense since WW2 as unfettered immigration is bankrupting them with social programs. Those idiot who don't learn the lessons of history are doomed to repeat it. Let's make sure it's not us.

It’s laughable that you play the role of expert on everything. Is there...
anything you don’t have a half baked opinion about? Irrespective of economic ideology, no country can withstand a massive economic blockade imposed upon it by the US and it’s global partners.
-
Level 2
Hey dumb shit the blockage started just the last few weeks. Their
economy collapsed long ago though ignorance and fraud. CITGO is still open right? PDVSA owns them. We could have seized those assets. The only thing the US had done until last month was blocked the accounts of Maduro, his family and his cronies that stole the country blind while their people starved. Read more and post less.

You're the dumb ass. The type of Financial sanctions imposed on the country are a swift death blow..
It only takes a few months to wipe out an economy that relies on a single resource by cutting off access to all credit to fund production. It's pretty simple. Plus the sanctions blocked CITGO from sending profits/dividends back to Venezuela. The result is essentially the same as seizing assets. We've basically wiped 7% from their GDP overnight.
You probably know a lot about oil but you don't know shit about finance. You're out of your league on this one junior.

I tend to post on what happens to be in the news... but I don't feel like an expert on anything.
I'm just someone who's been around for a few decades and I've always tried to pay attention to what is going on and why. I never take umbrage at anyone else's opinion... I understand that we each bring different life experiences to the table when making our observations. I will confess to preferring levity over outrage when providing my comments.

Ahhh so now you blame the US for Venezuela’s problems. Of course you do.

To the contrary. What I do is point out pertinent information as it relates to...
cause and effect. It’s naive to think that any imperial world power would allow any paradigm that doesn’t fit its narrative to succeed. I suspect that Venezuela is a mismanaged train wreck but I don’t underestimate the influence the most powerful country in the world has had on exacerbating the mess when it decides to intervene.
At this point in history Capitalism has proven to be the best thing we’ve got but that doesn’t make It sacrosanct. Eventually some other system will replace it.

Level 4
One of the ways you know someone is parroting BS is when they say America is an imperialistic power.
If we were imperialistic, the largest proven crude oil reserves in the world would be ours...but they are not ours, they are Venezuela's.
Don't be lazy and regurgitate nonsense like that. Post better.

That’s it, of course. Otherwise, they would all be celebrating his reign of starvation.

There are some who would take a blind eye approach to this socialist monster
I am encouraged that not all on the left are willing to overlook his abuses in the name of the greater good.
-
Level 3
Like who takes a blind eye to him?
Stop exaggerating. There is true lefty craziness out there like the Green New Deal. But, I know of no one who does or would support Maduro.

I want the quotes you are referring to. If you can’t back it up fine.

Your regular replies to my posts prove otherwise.
I don’t need to prove anything. You are making the assertion. Again if you want to leave it unsubstantiated, that’s up to you.

Neither of those 2 indicated support for Maduro. They want the US to stay out of it and let the people there decide. I don’t agree with them but as a trumpbot, America Firster, you should be in agreement about not intervening in the domestic affairs of other nations, yes?

Yeah, but he makes up for that through the liberal use of childish nicknames.
