I don't get this at all.
It would be essentially a harmless pardon/commutation, but still. The worst - so far - is Clinton's pardon of Mark Rich. Ford pardoning Nixon made people crazy at the time, but at least you can see the logic.

Blago got 14 years for trying to sell a Senate seat, which evidence amounted to a phone call saying a bunch of stupid things. That's too long. He's done seven years. That's enough. Open up a cell for real threats.
And if you really want to know why Trump is doing it, it's because he wants to remind Comey who's boss.
I am not in favor of letting him go, he is corrupt as they come. Though he is exactly the same as Barack Obama and the rest of the Chicago political Machine. Blago was simply the sacrificial lamb.
