Great Sunday.

I was a bachelor today.

Mass with son...then he was off to SAT prep class. Soooo, what to do.

Small town nearby had a gun show. Went to that. Good show...all country folk...very polite. I didn't buy anything, though.

Took the back roads (as the crow flies) route back home, and went into a small town that I knew existed, but had never spent any time there. Turns out they have a bed and breakfast, so I slowed down to check it out for a possible future trip with the wife...and noticed that they had a distillery. Well, that was interesting. I stopped and had a tasting of their vodka (same as any vodka), gin (very unique), bourbon (like any Canadian whiskey), and rye which was a little over priced but good, so I bought a bottle to have some local stuff in my bar at home.

Bar maid mentioned there was a brewery nearby. I said, "Do tell". Looked it up, and made the 4 mile drive...checking out "acreage for sale" signs along the way.

Great brewery in the middle of nowhere. Had a 3 man band playing great songs outside. I had a couple of IPAs, sitting with the wife of the bass player (a horse wrangler for rich people...the wife, not the bass player). I will definitely look for that band in the future.

Back home to pick up my son, and then off to my parents' house for a fried chicken birthday dinner for my father. Great to be in town with my parents for that reason alone.

I wish a great day just like this upon everyone.

Not sure what the difference is between Canadian Whiskey and US Bourbon...different casks? Unfortunately, she was not equipped to explain to me why their stuff tasted like that.

With all due respect, riding the backroads in your parts doesn't compare to Mississippi.

BTW, by state statute, every town in Mississippi with more than 500 people is required to hold a minimum of two gun shows per calendar year.
