The only thing that bothers me though, is that people keep thinking we are in discrete wars...and that going home to rest and retrain for the next round is somehow an ending to the war. The war is not over. We are in the early stages of the Second Hundred Years War. Leaving does mean we may have to come back. Leaving doesn't mean we are done. As long as there is Islamic Extremism, we will be at war.
Park a satellite over the country and hit suspected targets from above. If they want to kill each other, let them.
